On to game 7. This game will have no impact on the next, just like game 5 had no impact on game 6. Momentum has meant nothing and is pretty meaningless.

2 best teams in the league going at it in a 1 game, winner take all and one of them is our Jets. I think both teams are going to bring it and it's going to be one helluva game.

I'm going to sit back and enjoy it. This is a great team and a great time.

I've studied all the fine opinions in this PGT. Based on this treasure trove of knowledge, here's the plan for next game:
- Get rid of Enstrom, who is playing very well.
- PMo has to come up with more strategy and make adjustments, but think less, because he's overthinking things.
- We need to shake-up the lines, but also go back to the tried-and-true lines.
- The Preds are using a useless, out-dated defensive model, but they're playing excellent defensive hockey.
- We should sit Little, in exchange for someone else we will crucify Maurice for playing.
- The series is almost literally dead even in every measurable fashion, but the Jets have been totally outplayed and outcoached.
- This game wasn't lost due to a lack of effort, but it was definitely lost due to a lack of effort.
- We should change what colour of clothing we wear as fans.
- This is invaluable experience for a young, rising team, but also the Jets' last chance at being competitive.

I hope the Jets coaching staff is reading this. We've got it all figured out.

 Ok if this doesn’t lighten the mood I don’t know what will.

On a somewhat serious note, idk why we can’t run Morrow-Buff and Enstrom-Myers. Chiarot has been pretty bad and he only compounds mistakes Myers makes whereas I think Enstrom would settle that pairing down and allow Myers to play to his strengths instead of trying to carry Chiarot. We NEED a strong game from Myers if we’re going to win game 7.

I recommend everyone who thinks the Jets have no chance in game 7 after last night's effort, read the game 4 PGT over again. You were all wrong.

Do you really think that the players dont try to give their 100% in every playoff game? If you do, you are a fool. I am sure that everyone gives everything they have left, and if it looks like laziness then they are probably tired and thats all they gave to give. Watching who are tired its obvious that its the young guys, because their endurance is not (and cannot be, nature has made sure of it) at its its best yet. That comes later, with training, conditioning and age.

You do make some very good points here Paul. I thought of this myself, and if we could look 5 years down the road, our young guys will be reaching their prime, and they will look like much different players. I'm sure this will happen, as man reaches his peak at around 28 years old-- so I guess our young guys are physically and mentally spent. They will bounce back for the next game I hope.

I do give this team a lot of credit from where they came from last year --as they are really a bunch of kids playing what could be the Stanley Cup champs. I think this team will accomplish great things in the near and distant future.

I also "do not" believe we are out of this playoff at all --we can beat these guys in their rink, and have done so 2 times in these playoffs.( 5 times in total) I do give the edge to the Preds though because of home ice and experience. As you say they older guys are physically stronger and have more mental stamina.

I am "sure" they are going to give it their all this Thursday--and we'll see what happens. We have a very good chance--we've beaten them 5 times this year.

We are not out of it at all. It has been an extremely even series and the Preds have all the pressure now, playing a game 7 at home. Its still anyone's game.

The big guns will need to be the big guns, on Thursday. This thing is still doable. Particularly if we can muster up a good first period....

I could be mistaken here ? but I believe each team has won 2 games each--in the opponents building, and only 1 game in their home rink. I believe this is correct, so Home Ice--is not that big a deal here. It just may put more pressure on the Home Team to win. Also the Caps just finished off the Penns on their home ice.

I still like our chances a lot--don't anybody write us off here-"we can still win this series."

The one thing I have learned from watching the Jets this year is when Buff spends all game skating slowly up the ice looking like a guy trying to play a cerebral game while the forwards wait patiently for him to decide who to pass to - the Jets lose every time and in the post game Maurice will talk about how the jets were not playing fast. It all seems to begin with Byfuglien. Just like all those horrid 3 on threes we endured this year.

Agree with this. The Jets seem to hobble themselves in games wherein their D has that methodical look moving into the O-zone. Nashville seems to love this, or at very least, reads it well, and keys on it.

Another point - a couple of times early in the game 5 on 5 -> The Jets were cycling the puck well, and Myers seemed to kill the speed of the play.

Am I imagining things? For me it was Myers that crushed the quick cycle in the o-zone. Too much thinking, not enough hockey.

Super frustrating for me. My usual approach to grab a fresh perspective is to take the dog for a walk, but on walk #3, she looked at me like I was nuts.

EDIT: OK, the dog, both cats, my wife looked at me like I was nuts. :help::laugh::popcorn:

The one thing I have learned the last 30 years as a Jets fan is that they will inevitably play the best team in the league in the first or second round.
And the ending to the story has never been good.

Is this Jets team different?
Judging by game 6, NO.
Judging by game 5, YES.

Number #7 has really been hurting us against the Preds. That's sad as I was already tricked to believe that Chiarot might be after all a quite OK NHL defenseman, even after previous season when he was one of the worst of already bad (healthy) D corps.

I think PoMo should try Morrow instead of Chiapet next game.

That 2nd goal was just unacceptable.

Edit: and for sure Enström is good. Not awesomely great but good.

I said at the beginning of the series we would need Morrow's speed and puck moving more than Chariots grit. I stand by it.

We really choked. After a game like that I don’t expect to win the next one. I give us a 30% chance at doing so. If we are gonna win we need to be capable of scoring first, the stars on this team need to play with more effort(especially Laineand Buff after that game).

Hey 99--I think you may want to up our chances to 40% ( from 30%) Don't forget we beat them 2 times in their rink, and they beat us 2 times in our rink. The home team only won 1 game at home--for both teams.

The series is tied 3 games apiece -- and are very close, as this years points totals proved. In the regular season, they won 3 and we won 2 against them.

What does this tell you ?? --well it tells me this last and deciding game can go either way, and I don't think Home ice will make that much difference.

I would give the edge --say 60-40 to the Preds for experience, home ice, etc-- but this last game can go either way. We can still take this series !!! It's very close.

Jekyll and Hyde all series.
Sometimes Mr. Hyde shows up for just the first period but he stayed on the ice for the entire game last night.
We really never know which one will show up in which game this series. Or which period even.

Absolutely we’ve still got a shot here. We’ve won three games in the series, lost one in dbl OT, and last night really rested on arvidson pulling a Homer for the first goal. He doesn’t accidentally deflect the puck while he’s diving there and it very well could have been a different game. It’s ended up exactly as many predicted - 7 games. So here we go...put it together for 1 game and win it.

Hey GNP -> I like our chances much better. Totally different mindset down in Tennessee. The Jets players seem to relish the underdog roll. I'm rolling with - at minimum - 50% or as high as 70-30 Jets.

We can be alot better , we have all seen this but i really think that was Nashville's best last night . Please , Please Jets score first on Thursday and take it from there . Nashville can be great defensively if they get the lead but if they have to open up we can beat them with our speed and offensive talent . Man this series is gonna be the death of me .

Game 7 beckons boys and girls -> the single most important game in Winnipeg Jets/Kenora Thistles/Tappara/Barrie Colts/Prince George Cougars/Brandon Wheat Kings history.

An intent forum with hundreds of die hard fans had an emotional response to a crushing playoff loss? You don't say.

This is a really obnoxious post.

Lol like punting a 3 legged blind dog on your way into a daycare to tell kids there is no santa claus and the easter bunny is a myth.

Great response bud.

Hey Kanada -- I wish I could be a "confident" as you, but I'm willing to go up to 45% in favor of the Jets to win--and 55% for the Preds to win. I guess after getting shut out at home, with not even 1 goal has somewhat reduced my confidence, although we beat them quite badly the game before, in their building.

This game can go any way really--and nothing would surprise me. I really hope the Jet's take this next game--it would be HUGE for the Jets, and this City-- It will happen sometime, now or in the near future--"I hope it's now"

Yeah -and by the way Kanada -where is Aavco ?-did he abandon us ???
