The steam games I sunk most time into:
- CK3
- State of Decay 2 - few years old, and generally I stay away from action/fighting RPGish games, but this scratches a bunch of itches: relatively simple melee combat (though there are a few combos you can get when a character progresses,) RPG elements (every character you meet is unique in skills and quirks, though not dialog,) and survival/base-building. If you play Fallout 4's must-use mod Sim Settlements 2 and liked it much, much more than the base game, try it. Usually can be found on sale, and definitely play with a controller. I've come to realize that hitting a group of zombies with aoe fire is one of my favorite game mechanics. Don't judge me.
- Stranded: Alien Dawn - early access game. Kenshi 2.0
- Still felling judged
- Co3 alpha missions. WANT.
- The Homeworld series in "chronological" order. WANT HW3.
- Dying Light 2. Yes, we're back at zombies and fire. Can we move on?
GOG:
- PKWotR - Higher-level characters and fantasy don't really mix for me, but I felt compelled to play it after I liked Kingmaker so much.
- Iron Harvest - see CoH3 above.
Epic:
Control - Finally finished it. This game makes no sense, but whatever. I want to date the main character and the customizing options and power-ups are interesting.
Games allegedly coming out in 2023 I'm looking forward to (and yes, I am done with fantasy as a genre, it's been done):
- Bethesda's Star-whatever game.
- Frostpunk 2
- Did I mention Homeworld and CoH?
Would you play it again knowing what you know now or would you find something else to play?
I would not - it doesn't have a lot of replayability in my estimation. The ongoing surprise is really central to the experience.
