I might dabble. PS Store has a lot of good sales now. Just got Miles Morales for 20 dollars. NHL is also 27 dollars, I'm really tempted

NHL is the same game it’s been for years, for better or worse. I didn’t buy it in 22 and I’ve found 23 is pretty much the exact same game as 21 except the goalies are better in Chel and they actually make saves in the threes tournaments.

Alright, I’m committing to Elden Ring. It’s 30% off on the PS Store so I picked up. Wish me luck.

Are you a fan of any of the Souls games? If not I wouldn't recommend Elden Ring. I just can't get into these games. The combat is not my style at all.

Witcher 3 if you haven't played is a fantastic game.

Off to a smashing start in Elden Ring. I accidentally skipped through the opening scenes so I have no idea what the backstory is and then after getting out of the training cave I hit the wrong button and attacked the White Face Mage who proceeded to kill me instantly and every time I respawned he would just immediately destroy me. I finally managed to run away once but got killed by a giant dude riding on a horse about 15 seconds later. This game is a ton of fun so far…

Think I might just cut my losses for this play through and start again. I assume the Mage is trying to tell you something helpful otherwise I have not the faintest idea where I’m supposed to go or what I’m supposed to do.

That’s pretty much the game die die die and die some more. But once you beat some of those bosses it’s so satisfying.

It'll be a while before you can take on the guy on the horse. Go around him for now. There are easier enemies in the area.

Yeah one tip for Elden Ring: it's ok and often preferable to just avoid strong enemies. The risk/reward isn't worth it a lot of the time.

I'll probably check out Elden ring soon. Almost done with yakuza like a dragon. Wouldn't mind a good single player experience

I love the characters in Like A Dragon but the turn based combat isn't for me.
It has it's benefits and drawbacks. The thing is you couldn't do essence sequences in prior games...but those battles also weren't drawn out 20-30 minute boss battles (nor did they have 4 people ganging up on 1 / 2 bosses)

I was wary of the system but I hadn't played it before. I was familiar with it through the South Park game. Biggest benefit is probably party and like hockey you can have lines  some reserves on the 2nd line ready to jump in when the originals get KO'd

And last note on this but yeah, the whole leveling up a character can be pretty fun, but you can be logjammed while trying to grind to get to a strong enough level to face a boss. For me in my stage I pretty much am going to grind and do the management minigame to wrap up any loose ends. Unlikely I would go far if I just rushed into a boss like I did in the previous Yakuza games.

Anyone play Sniper Elite? I love sniper games. Playing v2 right now; going to play SE4 next since it’s in PS+.

I played one of them (4? maybe?), and basically rage-quit. Pity, because the game had a lot of promise -- gorgeous graphics, nice controls, interesting leveling system. However, the enemy AI was absolutely atrocious. In many cases you would get swarmed by the enemy even before you had a chance to set up. Not worth it IMO.

Hey come on now I remmeber quake 1 reaper bots back in '96 were a pain in the butt as well as Nightmare mode on Q3. At the top of my Q3 FPS skills I could still win over 50% of the DM matches (I suck now).

Interesting…..I will see once I try 4. So far in v2 it’s manageable, but unless you use stealth a lot, prepare to die/rinse/repeat….

I played through Sniper Elite 5 in co-op, and that's a game that really wants you to play a particular way. If you get off the path or try to run & gun you'll get killed quick.

Also the back half was better than the first half, which is rare.
