OT: Video Game Thread Part VIII

Last Epoch launch is tomorrow. I’ve been playing the beta for multiple years at this point. If you think you’re interested in an ARPG that’s shooting for a middle ground between the vanilla nature of Diablo 3/4 and the complexity of PoE, this is the best chance you’re ever going to get.

It's got my favorite crafting system ever put into an ARPG. The build variety is huge. Respecs are functionally free. There’s even a fully offline mode if that’s your preference. There's also this really neat system that allows you to trade items to people you play the game with even if they're not online.

...and you didn't even have to take a week off of work.

Show me your FIFA team

To me it looks a bit more like a reskin of Division 2 than Assassin's Creed, and that's a good thing.

Have you seen the reviews on Skull & Bones? Another Ubisoft special haha
I’ve not actually read any reviews of Skull and Bones, but I did see a clip on twitter of the ship ‘boarding’ and it made me laugh. A two second cutscene and they immediately put you into a menu. Fantastic work, well done everybody.

I imagine that Shadow of the Erdtree is going to be MASSIVE with its story, world-building, and gameplay. FromSoftware’s history with DLC is stellar so this is gonna be wild

@FLYguy3911 I'm going to lose my mind.

This is how I'm losing games. I'm not exaggerating when I say my goalie keeps moving to let in goals.

@JojoTheWhale I need the official review- should i get it if I'm strapped for time? Or can I play at my own pace?

There’s zero reason to rush through anything. I hit 47 today and stopped by choice. There’s no functional reason to need to trade with other people, nor is there any need for a build guide. I winged it on a brand new class that went live today. I have a bird because it looked fun. I’m working toward a talent where you place totems and Tripwires appear between them. I don’t know or care if it’s good. It’s fun.

(The story might as well be non-existent.)

Plus you got the Martinez upgrade, even though I can't imagine he'd make the team.
I was using him for a bit. A god in squad battles. So slow online. He needs more upgrades lol. And he has flair as a second PS+. Useless.

I packed Zambo Anguissa too but I don't expect Napoli to do much more.

The combat in Control is so fast and frenetic that it basically feels like a completely separate game from the story. It’s like an adrenaline punch to the gut that never lets up. I love it so much. Story is fascinating and weird too.

I had a blast playing that game, it just kept getting better and better as the story progressed.
