Sad to hear about the corrupted save but happy to hear its a good game!
It absolutely nails that Gothic horror feeling better than anything else I've seen/played. The gameplay is so tight, the bosses (for the most part, Rom can suck a fat bag of dicks) are spectacular, the weapons are a ton of fun, too. The whole trick weapon thing is a really neat mechanic. Being able to change up your moveset mid fight can be a literal game changer.

You've inspired me to re-install, lol. Hopefully I'll be able to beat the game this time.

Oh yeah? Excellent! I’m making my way through the Souls games first before I tackle Bloodborne. I’ve heard that the combat is significantly more fast paced and intense in Bloodborne…more aggressive than the slower/methodical and/or defensive Souls games. It took me far too many hours of playing Demon’s Souls to figure out that the Royalty class is the way to go. The use of magic makes that game a lot more fun, enjoyable, and easier. Farming Souls like crazy to level up before I face the next boss.

I’m playing Titanfall 2 also. A nice change of pace from the challenge of Demon’s Souls. I’ve recently added the Dark Souls Trilogy, Sekiro, & Elden Ring to my backlog.

What are you playing now?

Yeah, going back to Demons/DS1+2 after the more recent games is a huge change of pace. It's not bad, just significantly slower, more methodical. More like a chess match. Compared to that, Bloodborne feels like a mongoose fighting a King Cobra.

Titanfall 2 was a lot of fun. Probably the best platforming I've come across in a first person game. The mechanic you pick up in the fifth(?) mission is an all time great.

Recently, I actually just finished my most recent playthrough of Elden Ring. I think I've beat the final boss 7-8 times across 4-5 characters at this point.

I've also been playing a ton of Skyrim to pass the time before Starfield launches. NINE MORE DAYS!

Some stuff I like, some stuff I don’t like so far with BG3. I made a high half elf barbarian, and all of the hair options are perfectly coiffed, and none of the voices are gruff enough to sound funny coming from a high elf.
The voice acting on Astarion,I just met him, is superb, reminds me of Tim curray.

The "store" is long overdue. I've been saying it for years. You can play that game year round and still might not unlock the piece of equipment you want. I still don't have all of the helmets somehow in 23.

The battle pass is definitely a cash grab like Cod though.

Second rate FIFA player. I played two games and called it a day. The graphic with your name floating around the screen is obnoxious.

After delving through a trap strewn ancient church and crypt, I awoken several skeletal guards who were above my level. After a moderately tough fight, the bastards silenced my casters, I think I made friends with an imprisoned lich. That’s pretty cool.

So your high elb barbarian has great hair, but his voice is too high pitched? Did you ask your marine buddies about this? Maybe Master Sergeant could help. And it's Tim Curry boobface. Communism was just a red herring.

I’m really looking forward to playing Bloodborne and Elden Ring. I might even shell out the $ for the Future Press Official Strategy Guides for Elden Ring. It’s a massive game and I want to experience everything it has to offer. That, and the re-sale value of those strategy guides skyrockets after even a short period of time. What’s your favorite Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, and Elden Ring classes?

The platforming in Titanfall 2 is a lot of fun. FPS aren’t my favorite but when they’re doing right (like this game), they’re a blast. I’ve yet to play Skyrim. I’ve heard good things.

I heard hitting is toned down which is nice. It won’t happen in the full version though I’d bet.
It’s probably going to wind up being the opposite. New controls so people don’t know how to hit really yet, but I’ve seen people who know how to just completely crumple people.

It’s like old NCAA/Madden kicking. Thumb stick down then up for big hits.

I think we’re at the point where only a new console can save it.

Hitting with truculence was so OP. It took no skill. Hold up on the stick and your skater will literally track the attacker’s movement. No charging calls. Made no sense.

I’ll take my ass kicking if there is at least a skill gap involved. We’ll never get good physics. I’ve accepted that.

NHL has been bait and switch for about 5 years now. The first months gameplay is fantastic, and then it gets patched into an unplayable mess with the first patch.

Let's talk about how you can do the lacrosse goal by literally just pressing Y. Saw 4 in the first 2 games I played and turned it off.

Oh and goalies are swimming and one touch passing doesn't work.

One touch passing is finicky. In practice mode, testing it, you basically have to hit it almost as soon as the person releases. Too tight and it’s awkward. It’s sort of ridiculous that they can’t just go back to the snappy passing pre-Frostbite.

I didn’t try the new controls because they seem ridiculous. I hate what they did to the A button, since it’s muscle memory. Sprint and protect being the same button is moronic, but I have it paddled. I also figured out some ridiculous move where you can stick handle back and forth while protecting, and you swing the puck like it’s a lacrosse stick. It’s horribly cheesy.

Goaltending looks ass. I liked the ability to not get bumped and actually control a puck. It felt more skill based than Loose-Pickup-Fest 22. But the hip check is broken, and we’ll see if that’s more a product of no one knowing how to hit yet. Hitting does seem harder to time though. The poke check is barely usable. Defending is just a bucket of shit right now.

The pressure system I’m mixed on. I hate dominating time with the puck and watching the other team pick cherries and get rewarded. But the pressure system seems exploitable if you want to purposefully cycle without a real aim to score. And the stamina loss rate is a bit absurd.

@Striiker Fif...I mean FC 24 preordered. It was 10% off until tomorrow I think. Not sure about Xbox.
Doesn’t appear to be 10% off on the Xbox store. Damn.

But I’ve liked what I’ve played so far. Maybe I’m imagining it but it feels more chaotic than 23. As in, my Ai are just running around like crazy when I’m attacking and they don’t have the ball, instead of staying more within the 4-3-2-1 structure and following their custom instructions. Otherwise, the passing and tackling seem more responsive, which is nice.

Wonderful game, although I never actually beat it. I got to the final boss, fought him several times, and then my f***ing cat stepped on my surge protector while I was in a loading screen.

My save got corrupted and I lost all my progress. Never had the heart to give it another go.
OK, you have my cat story beat; mine just vomited all over my PS2 controller while I was on the phone with my girlfriend (now my wife). She still brings the story up every few months.

Still kind of mad, that was one of my better controllers.

Anyone drop the $20 to play Wayfinders? Horrible servers at the moment but man super fun once you get in. The graphics are awesome too. Has alot of work to do adding stuff but you can feel the Digital Extremes hands on it (anyone that has played Warframe knows).

They just really need to get the server stable. We are almost 1 week now and there is still a huge que to get in.

Played Warframe for many, many years. 900+ hours into it. But yeah, I heard the server shit is bad and wow, their cash shop, if they didn't fix it, is extremely predatory. I have heard it's fun as hell though to play.
