Finished up Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart today (PS5). That was lots of fun. Phenomenal graphics…mind-glowingly good. Excellent haptic feedback on the controllers too. Not too hard, not too easy, just right.

Now…I’m tackling Demon’s Souls (Remake). I’ve spent a few hours playing this game before but I went to play other games. It’s my sole focus right now. Punishing combat so far lol.

I picked up an unofficial nephew, and shortly after ran head first into an abandoned wagon. That’s a sure sign to shoot this dude in the back of the head isn’t it?

The "D" souls games while fun to play are just too hard for me to get into. I usually cheese my way through them with friends.

Nevermind how confusing the storyline is.

Can't wait to play BG3.

Not a huge fan of the short rest/long rest mechanic, and much preferred the action point mechanic in DOS:II, but I'm sure I'll adapt to it well enough.

It looks amazing.

Wish Chess960 were more popular. It's so much more fun than classical to me

I just finished Rift Apart on the second highest difficulty but I totally cheated at the end with invincibility and infinite ammo because I earned that shit getting all the hold bolts again.

I was surprised by how much fun this game was/is. At some point, I’m definitely going to replay it.

The changes to energy or intimidation or whatever they called it sound great for offline play but awful for competitive play - less randomness and more skill expression please. Now my human goalie can get "tired" so he'll just flat out miss a save? Random glass breaking will cause a stoppage in play? Brings back memories of when your stick could break randomly on a shot.

I do like the button passing though - have been asking for that option for years.

2k had this almost 20 years ago iirc. Welcomed but long overdue. Nothing worse than getting sucked into pass assist. Or a teammate trying to sandbag an assist by getting in the passing lane of a wideopen guy.

I wish they would take a page out of FIFA's playbook and turn double tapping of the face buttons into saucer passes.

Button passing could be useful in certain scenarios, but it’s not something I really need. Pass assist rarely screws me over, usually in NZ if anything. I’m thinking about ways to purposefully decoy a puck going through someone up high (like Giroux does). But hockey passing is so fast paced, compared to 2K, to then improvise and figure out which button to hit seems like a lot. If your teammate tries to steal pucks instead of spacing properly, that’s a teammate issue.

The reverse hitting shit will be broken. That’s a guarantee. I’m also crying laughing at the “one touch pass” stuff. There was always one touch passing before NHL22. They made it more sluggish. Frostbite RNG engine and X-factors have sucked the life out of this franchise.

I like that they’re adding the fatigue and pressure systems to make sure the already slow, heavy, and sluggish gameplay will now feel even more delayed when playing online.

Fix your servers, idiots.

“If you hit someone they get up EVEN SLOWER!”

“If you take bad angle shots and chase hits in the o-zone, you get MOMENTUM!”

I’ve all but quit the game anyway because of my issues with the NHL servers. I basically play on invisible packet loss.

They only did all this so people can’t complain about the servers anymore. Now slow unresponsive gameplay is literally a feature, not a bug.
