So far I’ve only had one hero die, but I’ve only play one and a half of the entry level campaigns, and that was only on the second hardest difficulty (out of 4, I think?). I get the feeling the end game ones will be a lot tougher.

The end fight of the introduction campaign was a blast though. My heroes were surrounded, about to die, and I realized that I didn’t need to wipe out every enemy, just the ‘queen’ or whatever it was called. So I sent in my glass cannon (who was about to die, which was fine, because one of her skills was that she dealt more damage as she approached death) and absolutely pooped on the boss, winning the fight and the campaign. That was a great feeling. I really can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ve only put in about 10 hours so far but I’m totally hooked already.

It looks like it has a real table top feel and like you're in some live story performance haha. Very cool.

Gonna keep my eye out for a sale on it.

Yeah it's pretty cool. It definitely has that DnD feel, but you don't need to wrangle up 3/4+ people plus a DM together to play it.

I was also waiting on a sale, but got impatient and picked it up at full price. Now I fully expect it to get discounted within the next week, because that always f***ing happens to me

Bought a PS1 on eBay yesterday that came with THPS and GTA that I’m going to bring to my buddy’s bachelor party in a few weeks.

Bought a HDMI converter for the RGB component too.

Hopefully it works.

I was recently given a a TurboGrafx16, Sega Saturn, Atari 2600, and Model 1 Genesis for free along with a bunch of controllers and games. I was already building a solid collection of retro games because I have a Retron 3 which plays Genesis, NES, and SNES catridges. It's pretty flimzy and ugly looking though so i'm glad to get the real deal consoles.

Since getting all of this stuff I also secured a 20" flat-screen CRT for free off of Facebook Market place and bought an 8-port RCA switcher to hook everything up to it plus leave room for other consoles I want to add (N64, Dreamcast, and PS2). Set up a little retro gaming nook in my basemen.

Every Tuesday night my daughter and I have classic game night and play through some of the games. Fun times.

Picked up X Com 2 bundle for $15.

Played the heck out of almost all Civ and other Firaxis games (remember Alpha Centauri and Pirates?) but slept on the X Com franchise.

If everything I‘ve read is true, I’m in for a treat and a world of pain.

Wait, for real for real?
Yes, for real for real. I don't rest until all of the HF homies get what they want. I know you wanted a digital so I get if you want to wait and see if you can get one later but I have tried every drop since you said you wanted one both digital and disc and this was the first time I was able to get one.

Best Buy GPU restock has stayed available for ~15 Minutes if people are still in need.

@landsbergfan

I may as well quote you on this, but it's a general question. Has anyone else played around with server processors for gaming in desktops? I once had a Pentium D which was billed as being a server core and while it was never top-notch, it trucked along and kept up for a decade before finally being an obstacle for new games. We have Xeons in our desktops in the office and I'm fairly amazed at how well they've held up for the last six or seven years. And you can get a perfectly decent one for a lot cheaper than the glamorous i7 or i9.

The work Xeons can support something like 375 GB memory. Get pooped on, 64 GB processors.

Finished elden ring over the weekend and I gotta say it was pretty overrated imo. It was basically just the Witcher 3 played on blood and broken bones difficulty without nearly as good of a storyline or lore and the open world was largely just an open repetitive void to fill time in between the next thing you have to kill. You travel from dungeon to dungeon with nothing really in between. They claim you can go any direction you want, but there’s no way you’re getting passed certain monsters at a lower level. The NPC’s are lifeless and uninspiring. The loot is really dull for beating higher level monsters. I just don’t really see the replay value after grinding through the game. I’m honestly just relieved it’s over. I don’t understand the greatest game of all time hype when it’s not even the greatest open world rpg and did nothing groundbreaking really to the genre. It was a solid game, I’d give it a 7 or 8, but it was far from a masterpiece and not all that different from other Fromsoft games other than being “open world”. What am I missing?
The minimal storytelling is a feature, not a bug. I call that shit out in all the Souls games. What's the point of having a famous author right a story if you have to do a scavenger hunt to put it all together? That will always be lost on me.

I guess the two big things about it are all the different builds you can make and the whole co-op/pvp aspect. My friends are obsessed with making different characters and you can totally cheese your way to strong items early on by just racing past enemies or using a friend to transfer items to your newb characters. My one friend can get a guy to level 50 in a few hours while it's taken me 40 on my first playthrough. It may not be my bag overall but I find it much more accessible than the previous games due to fast travel and the horse.

Will probably regret not buying right now but I don’t feel prepared at all to build a pc. I haven’t looked into it at all. Are these prices good?

Things are starting to become available and stay in stock for a bit. You shouldn't feel the need to pounce the second you see something. Prices basically are what they are at Best Buy. Some SKUs will have better value than others, but there's no markup.

Thanks, I have to figure out what my actual plan is for a PC first. It ranges from wanting to play WC3 to running fortnite and sim racing. I won't need anything crazy but I dont want to spend the money on a PC build that cant keep up with that.

Switching to mouse and keyboard after they take away building. You’re a trend setter.

@FLYguy3911 — I played a mutant in the new event who had Clemente and Thomas. So, obviously he had 99 Randy too.

I asked him how much money he blew on this game. He said none. Guy has a bigger blank check than Chuck Fletcher.
I'm still too scared to play ranked. I haven't even spent my stubs, much less actual dough.

I'm almost done with the 1st program, maybe I'll get some hair on my chest after.

It’s my first time playing Diamond Dynasty. I’m grinding pretty hard, but my pulls are absolute shit. I haven’t put in any real moolah. I finished the FoTF program a few days ago, so most of my best cards are just those and some 88-89 Live series.

I’m 12-1 in ranked, but I realized the rewards were bad, so I redirected my time and got to 50 wins in the first event. This Moonshot Event, however, is making me rage. Common pitchers only, and I am finding only the sweatiest of sweats. Think I’ll order Kontrol Freeks today.

I know sweet f*** all about racing rigs, but I do know that a good portion of them use 3 monitors. What I'm saying is definitely price this out before you get your heart set on it. At 1080p, it shouldn't be too bad. A triple 1440p setup would scale up in cost quickly, especially at higher framerates.

I'll assume your fiscal sanity is intact and you don't want to do VR racing.
