One of the best things on TW3 is now there is a decent cross save system that works between all platforms. So if you have all the same content (DLCs and such) you can play the Xbox version at home and then move right over to the Switch portably. I've dabbled in that since the latest update and it is fantastic. Though the game looks like garbage on the Switch on a big TV.
Both Zelda games are great. TotK is simply BotW on steroids. Both of them are mid teens on size if thats the path you're looking at. I wouldn't worry too much on storage though. A sandisk ultra 512GB is something like $40. You could technically fill that up, but odds are you won't anytime soon with Swtich game sizes. If you even have a random 128GB card laying around, that'll suffice for a while. I have a 200GB in mine that I've had since it came out, and I'm not close to full. Now I buy mostly physical, but even if I didn't I might be missing two games in total.

That's where I'd buy refurb. It may not be the cheapest, but Nintendo does a really good job with their internal refurb. Checking cheapassgamer for any new deals would also be worth a look.
That said, if you would be looking to sell it in 2-3-4 years. A special edition is not at all a bad option. Nintendo fans go nuts over them down the road. IE I bought a Majora's Mask edition 3DS when I finally got into that system. Played it for years (kept the box and shit), sold it for over 400 this past summer (I think I paid 200 or 220). Mario and Zelda special editions will be similar with the Switch.
