Hedman making his claim for the Norris this year.

People saying Makar is running away with it, but I hope Hedman puts a dent in that

Its a shame Makar is gonna win the Norris for the next 600 years cause voters will just say Hedman is on a stacked team (which should also go into affect with Makar and his stacked team), and Hedman is still actually good in his own end.

Josi should actually win it this year, but everyones slobbering over Makar (who, yes is very good) for the next while

With 2 assists tonight Hedman is up to 66 points (in 68 games). That is now the 2nd most in franchise history by a dman.

1. Hedman - 72 points (2017)
2. Hedman - 66 points (2022)
3. Hamrlik - 65 points (1996)

Would be nice to see him make another push for the Norris but competition is tough this season. Josi is unreal. Setting a new franchise record should be possible though, 6+ points in 14 games.

Do we think Hedman ever wins the Norris again?

He'll most likely finish 3rd or 4th in voting this year, but do we think he can get another one before he starts to slow down?

Having the Conn Smyth trophy is obviously better but deserves at least one more Norris from the last couple years

At this point I would have to say no, he probably doesn't. I think people will still realize that during Hedman's prime no one one was even close to him overall. Let's say Hedman, Josi and Makar are the finalists this year. Hedman will have 6 nominations in 6 years while no one else would have more than 2.

That to me is a lot more impressive than 2 Norris trophies with no other nominations if Josi were to win it.

Also, I'm pretty sure you mean the Conn Smythe.

If his game ages well, and I think it will, he has an outside shot at surpassing Lidstrom in total points. He's at 599 and would need another 543. ~55pts a season for another 10 years. Like I side, outside shot but definitely possible, especially if he racks up a few more 70-80 point seasons in his prime.

A question to people how have followed Hedman closely during his career. How do you rank this season by him compared to previous seasons?
