He's the best defenseman since Karlsson, and we are probably at the point where we can call that span of time an "era." It's been about 5 years now that he's been in the top-3, and unquestionably #1 for 2-3 years.

It's kind of odd that he only has one Norris.

Probably his best or second best to his Norris season as far as regular seasons go, but 2020 postseason is absolute peak Hedman.
Agreed. I look at that as a legendary performance. It's the best I've ever seen a Dman play in the playoffs, and I watched Lidstrom's entire career.

If that Hedman shows up for this run, I dont give a fxxx who we lost and I dont give a fxxx how we played in the season, we're still the favorites.

Hedman is amazing if you ask me but this didn't went very well. :sarcasm: People are still underestimating Hedman and it's truly confusing.
Hedman or Lidstrom at their peak?

Seriously, if only having to pick one star defense player for your team if being a coach. I can't find a better choice than Hedman.

Very cool, amazing game for Hedman, I love how this guy is playing hockey.

Norris Trophy finalist for the 6th straight season

Hedman was the anchor of a Lightning defense that helped the team post a 51-23-8 record for 110 points, the third-highest total in franchise history. He recorded career highs and ranked among the top three NHL defensemen in goals (3rd, 20), assists (2nd, 65) and points (3rd, 85). The assist and point totals set Tampa Bay franchise records for defensemen and his 20 goals tied the mark set by Dan Boyle in 2006-07. He played all 82 games and ranked second in the NHL in total ice time (2,056:12), an average of 25:05 per game. Only one Lightning skater had recorded 2,000 minutes in a season (Boyle, 2,201:57 in 2006-07) since the statistic was introduced in 1997-98. Hedman, who won the Norris Trophy in 2017-18 and placed third in voting in 2016-17, 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21, is a finalist for the sixth consecutive season. The last NHL blueliner to record as long a streak was Nicklas Lidstrom, from 1997-98 through 2002-03.

Want to be a filthy homer, but gotta give it to Josi this year (his second in 3 years). Expecting Makar to be 2nd.

Sucks he won't win even though he deserves it.

I'm just saying, you won't find a better defenseman in a must game than Hedman and if you are the best when you have to be the best then you are the best, end of discussion. Hedman is a complete defenseman while Josi, Makar and Fox aren't (yet).

*LoL* my English is amazing.

I adore Josi, Makar & Fox too though, lots of really good defensemen right now, it's cool.

This series is amazing and I have to admit I like Toronto Maple Leafs too, perhaps the Capital of Hockey.

For Tampa to accomplish its goals this postseason, VH needs to revert back to his 2020 playoff form. He looks off to me on this run--last year he had a widely known injury. Not sure what the ailment, if any, is right now. Yes, he had one of his better games in the last one. My comment nevertheless remains accurate. He has been good, but not his usual dominant force.
