To anybody familiar with the VGK Salary cap situation going forward: does the Hertl acquisition by Vegas hinders their abilities to offer Hanifin a long term contract?

I will burn this world to the ground down if we don't get Vegas/Colorado in the playoffs

Vegas is a ponzy scheme, they'll trade their picks away every year until some of their contracts go busto and full unmovable albatross. It's interesting to see how long it lasts. At some point, they are going to have just an absolute desolute decade, but for now they are always going to be a high demand destination due to being a cool city and no state income tax so it can keep going for a bit at least.

Fans should be complaining why their team doesn't do it (assuming it can afford it), not concoct some grand conspiracy where the other 30 teams allow Vegas and whoever to do it but decide not to out of the goodness of their hearts or something.
Wait till Vancouver does it. The league will come out with a new rjle that retro actively punishes them.

For some reason I read this as Tomas Tatar (no idea what team he's currently on or if he's in the league) being traded to Vegas and I thought, "That's a good deal for the Sharks." And, now, I wonder if Mike Grier thought the same thing.

Somehow Vegas seems to never be bothered with details like contracts and draft picks. It’s been, what, 7 years and they’ve been in “go for it” mode the entire time.

All Vegas has done since coming into the league is show of most of all of our GMs have been full of shit with their platitudes.

From the initial expansion draft to today.

What is Grier thinking? Hertl at $6.7M or whatever it is is an absolute steal and he only got back the equivalent of two late firsts and then threw in two 3rd rd picks of his own in the deal!!??

Not to mention all his retention slots are now gone.
Not sure why he didn't wait until draft day to make a move like this. He would have most likely gotten a way better haul and had a lot more teams interested. Baffling really
