Confirmed Trade: [VGK/CGY/PHI] Noah Hanifin (75% retained), Mikhail Vorobyov to VGK; 2026 1st , 2025 cond. 3rd, Daniil Miromanov to CGY; 2024 5th to PHI

The league does this already… they have doctors who check in on the players. Bettman was very open about the fact the league does independent checks on these players

Ah yeah, love the cap circumvention wonder what the return is. Flames trade their #1D to a division rival to face him for the next 8 years is crazy
Grow up, you sound like a little whiny baby.
Let me ask you this did the oilers not add players when Larrson was on LTIR? Would it still be cheating and would cry like a child if #97 was hurt but ready for the playoffs and you guys added a player to replace the loss of him during the regular season?

Stone saying "my back hurts" or "my spleen hurts"
Yeah that might work in the case of his back because he had spine surgery on it, but that doesn't work when you can physically see if the spleen has healed with diagnostic imaging. Backs are far more complicated.

Yes me and the entire NHL fandom are whiny little babies. It's two years the same story with Stone. Magically hurt and back for game 1 of the playoffs. Not the spirit of the rule, of course someone like Landeskog who is hurt for basically two full seasons is why the rule exists. Not for game 1 of playoff fixing like TBay and Vegas have done of late. The NHL is complicit in it, its just lame. I said the same when Kucherov situation happened.

I don't think you understand the difference there.

And you sure you don't mean Klefbom on LTIR, Once klefbom went on LTIR he didnt magically become healthy enough to play game 1 of the playoffs.

I’ve been of Hanifin’s more vocal supporters. He has been an extremely high end 5v5 and PK defenseman, and most of the important metrics paint him as a top 30 defenseman. The only real weakness Hanifin has is he is a pretty bad PPQB

I've not been his biggest supporter. I think in the last 20 games or more his whole game has looked strong and his PP qbing not horrible. But I don't think he was on Sergachev level which was probably one of the reasons it wasn't a stop-gap fit there. I think he can do the role on most teams still even on VGK. I just wouldn't be expecting top 10-15 type play there. I think he fills a void adequately overall.

When did this Oilers adding with Larsson on LTIR happen?

Yeah Miromanov has some nice tools and could potentially have some NHL upside with some fresh opportunities in Calgary but he's got to be like the third "piece" in this deal in terms of value. Filler going back.
