Yeah, nothing really wrong here IMO. I don’t speak Finnish, but I thought it was pretty funny actuallyOh come now that is.a funny little skit he did from the team be is currently playing for. No idea why people take that too seriously.
It is amusing how insulted some ppl here are. He was a late 1st rounder who was over hyped. He should have stayed overseas and not promised anything by the team. And to think because Las Vegas fleeced us we could have had Nick Suzuki instead.
Agree. I think Chevy will be a little displeased with it. Seems like something that would ruffle the Captain's feathers too. Chucking the hat is akin to stepping on the logo.Yeah, nothing really wrong here IMO. I don’t speak Finnish, but I thought it was pretty funny actually
The video is a commercial for the Finnish Liiga fantasy hockey manager game Liigapörssi.
He says "One more year in Häme (the region of Finland where he plays and lives). Pick me (to your team)!"
According to HPK the contract includes an option for Vesalainen to return to Finland after training camp "in case the Jets do not plan on using Vesalainen in North America". It's pretty vaguely stated, and it remains to be seen whether that means he will return to Finland if he is cut from the roster of 23 during training camp or if he doesn't get a big enough role in the A (or something else).
Thanks for the translation. Well, that pretty much settles it, doesn't it? Between the cap toss and saying he's there for another year, I don't see how anyone can interpret this other than he's already been told he won't be with the team this year.
The loan agreement states that he will be returning when the league does. He doesn't really have any say in it at this point and neither does HPK.Thanks for the translation. I really don't see there being an AHL season. I just don't see teams willing to carry that additional expense with no fans in the stands to offset costs. I see it more likely teams being able to carry a small taxi squad that practices with the team when they can and on their own when they can't. These players would be paid AHL salaries and be subject to the same recall and cap rules as would an AHL team. Under these circumstances I see the Jets wanting their top prospects playing under normal playing conditions in other leagues if at all possible, and only bring them to the big club if desperate.Or that they know there won't be an AHL season so they are setting something up for him to play if he doesn't make the team.

Yes, he has to come back for training camp. I'm just speculating that it has already been pretty much decided that he will return to HPK when that is over. Sure, it's possible that he will explode in Liiga and knock everyone's socks off in TC to the point they have to give him a starting roster spot, but I just don't see it happening.
He went to the KHL that year.Isn't that an old video anyhow? I swear I've seen that before when he used his European out clause on the first year of his ELC.

We weren't taking Suzuki.
Who do you figure the Jets would have taken? A dman?
yeah. and look how that's turning out. likely AHL this yearI have heard they were pretty high on Liljegren

Ljilegren or Valimaki are my guesses.
