meanngless vs real life situation. All this statistical mumbo jumbo is ruining sports. First baseball, football & now hockey. What about real life eye test....stats do not measure heart, grit, determination....theses characteristics are FAR more important than bs stats. am tired of seeing them to justify everything...especially losses.
IQ is a statistic.

Ok, uninspired is good. 10.5m vs 750,000 version. 4th line might inspire him. It was always said he is one of the few wingers in the NHL that could drive a line. Then he doesn't need AM. Go earn your keep. Turn lesser players to better players, rather than pull down AM and Ritchie.

Yes we expect him to be a line driver and he played well in the last 2 games. He has produced with and without Matthews, he had a shit playoff no sugar coating it, and a bad start to the season. But you also need to acknowledge that he played well in the last 2. But yes we need him to produce, hopefully he can keep the momentum going, he did a lot of good things for us last game.

I'm taking credit for reversing the jinx of that "I'm Excited to be Going to My First Ever Leafs' Game" thread. I don't know what to do about the "it's an easy opponent" comments in this thread. Vegas has had a notoriously high motor since joining the league. That can be killer for any team taking a game easy.

Nah... they are important, all of it. Stats, Eye test, all of it important... you can't just dismiss useful information, just because you don't fully understand it.
Where have all these 'hockey stats' got us? Last time I saw the Leafs win was in 67....and for for info I took Stats at the U of T... so don't presume I do not understand....that's being condenscending and unworthy of us true TML fans.

Experience, grit, determination, will to win is not nor can it be measured. No team can't win without these vital qualities that can be "quantified"...stop being cute
So what is the correlated coefficient to winning?

Should be a fairly easy win.
I sure hope you are right
But my fear is that they dipsey-doodle in the offensive zone, lots of puck possession ( they have the highest Corsi in the league), but end up giving Lehner lots of time to block. How else to explain their absurd shooting percentage? Another “groundhog day”? Enemy goalie plays miraculously, Leafs score 1-2 goals.

Hope I’m wrong, I do bleed blue, and I won’t stop cheering

All this talk about Vegas's injuries and you're missing your number one ace in the hole.

Your scorers will be shooting against this guy:

More 'double speak'...
So here is the thing. Your explanation in banal and reductionist. By your explanation, guys would never retire...they would continue to get better.
Your analytical assessment is absolutely useless because I have all those qualities yet if I were on the team, the correlation would be stronger if I sat on the bench.
Why even have a coach?
Please refrain from this kind of analysis because I already feel dumber just having read it.
