They obviously recognize it is not fair to terminate the contract, simply because he did not show up for a physical, while knowing his situation. I guess worse case scenario the NHL could fly a doctor out to perform the physical, if he was unable to fly there himself.
I don‘t think they recognised anything. It‘s more the NHLPA stepping in and making clear there would be consequences.

Sorry to hear that. I think it's a dangerous fallacy to assume Lehner is in the exact same scenario as you and has the same exact options as you or vice versa. Given the total lack of information however - it's easy to speculate to fill in those holes. My initial reaction was "instant contract breach and termination" as I assumed Vegas would have already been in the know if there was something underfoot. Like, you gotta at least call in sick. There's a thing in the USA called work abandonment. Interesting that they have doubled back on their previous statement.

Lehner did play for the senators at some point. Therefore, it's quite fair to remove another 1st round pick from the senators
Were their contracts terminated? The point of my reply, was that Lehner's contract is unlikely to be terminated, simply because he did not show up to take a physical. The NHL, NHLPA, etc are involved, and he is waiting to hear on next steps. They could always fly a team doctor out to perform the exam if they had to.
