Vegas about to circumvent cap again? UPD: Mark Stone back practicing.

Infinitely more complex situation due to lobbying, etc. But government also deserves blame.

Vegas isn't paying money to Daly or Bettman to allow them to continue to circumvent the cap. The league is allowing it, so they do it. The league can fix this if they want to fix it. They wouldn't gain or lose money from doing it, unlike your scenario.
The league can't do anything until the next CBA is up. The money they gain is through the perception of the benefits that come along with an 800 million dollar expansion price tag, and considering that's all Bettman seems to talk about recently, it's easy to connect the dots.

ever hear things that are too coincidental to be true

ie. the SAME thing happening 2 years in a row to the SAME player who is bound to return at the SAME time, which just so happens to benefit the team immensely

no need for expert medical doctors
Would have been three had they not fallen apart two years ago. Stone was on LTIR and they realized they needed him sooner rather than later and had to put FOUR guys on LTIR while triying to trade Dadonov last second just because he was suddenly "healthy enough to play".

Looks like Mark Stone is wolverine, having suddenly grown a new spleen just in time for the post-season. Vegas must have some compromising photos of a giddy Bettman to allow VGK to circumvent the cap year after year. More power to Vegas, but sucks for the rest of the league, especially for jabronies like Ottawa whose incompetent GM cost them a 1st by trying to hoodwink Vegas into taking a shitty Dadonov contract.

Vegas has ruined everything that was good and pure about hockey, from the way they treat players to the lack of integrity regarding the spirit of rules. They've just turned the league into just another MLB or NBA. Shame.

Miss opportunities to talk about the ugliest glittering gimmick stripes and bucket imo.

No, but you can arbitrarily extend the recovery until the cap goes away

Not really. I mean you can arrange for the scans to see how recovery is going with that but there's no guarantee he'd be healed in time.

If he was ready to go now he'd be playing. But I'll bet his next scan will be after the day after the regular season ends.

If you think this way in hoping that other teams would start copying them, you are wrong. There would probably be like 3 other teams that could pull stuff like this if they dared, because they will always be top destinations for players no matter what happens. Talking New York, the Florida teams, maybe Toronto for some players?

The way Vegas conducts their business in not all that nice for their players, but they still want to play there because it's a winning team in Las Vegas. You try to pull a stunt like this in say Edmonton, Philly or Colorado, players will say f*** that miserable organization.
By it being good for the league I mostly meant that I would find it really funny.

You crybabies are something else.

Whenever your team does the same thing in the future, i better not see you defending them.
because you would be ok with it if it were another team.... right. We're all stupid here.... Best you just not post.

Understand your team's Cup will just be remembered as the 2017 Astros World Series is. With a big fat asterisk.

Indeed they did it again. Some teams might be tempted to send in a 4th-line grinder to take one of the stars out for a series or two, however, the issue lies with NHL & NHLPA fixing the loophole so...

Unfortunately they play Chicago and Anaheim to end the year. 4 points there and they're in.
Chicago screwed Pittsburgh just last season, it's possible, but Vegas is getting in and will play a lineup over the cap game 1 of the first round.

If anything else happens but that I would be shocked. This is not good timing or luck based. I chuckled at the report when he first went to LTIR, saying they weren't sure of playoff availability. They are not even hiding it.

Why wouldn't we, not going to get my panties in a twist because a team utilizes the rules available to them.

It is not Vegas fault that they have one if not the most injury prone roster in the league right now.
Uh huh.

The Oilers are too "Goody goody" to do this, so you don't have to worry about that.

Little biased but with the way the bracket’s shaking out I feel like Dallas fans have every right to have a bone to pick with this.

I don't give a f*** what other teams do. If it is within the rules, everything is fair game.

Let us pray once again to the gods of medicine for bequeathing their majesty upon Mark Stone in the middle of April and not one moment sooner.

Praise be thy name.
