Is it a small minority though, pretty much everyone thinks this is pretty lame even if allowed.

Then we got like 5 guys in here doing insane mental gymnastics to justify this BS because it’s currently benefitting them.

Yea it’s within the rules, but it’s getting comically lame. Vegas is gonna ice like a 100 mil roster. Your lineup should have to be cap compliant, make deals all you want post deadline to try and make it imo but once the playoffs role around your roster on ice should have to be cap compliant.

Otherwise why even have the damn thing.
It is a small minority, for every person complaining there seems to be equal people fine with it or don’t care about it

If there are equal people that are fine with it that means 50% of people aren’t.

Does that seem like a small minority?

Some genius you are

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the cap circumvention post this morning.

People don’t care so they don’t talk about it, people don’t care and they talk about it. Vs. People who openly complain about it. 1/3 at most is small minority

My problem is how obvious they’re being about it.

I don’t doubt Stone has a lacerated spleen. However, there’s enough literature out there that will tell you a Grade 1 lacerated spleen has a recovery time of a couple weeks. A Grade 3 lacerated spleen would keep him out until next season. How can one tell which one Stone has? A simple CT scan would clear it up and give the team a timeline. But as long as they don’t do the CT scan, they can claim it’s “impossible to tell” and set his recovery to whenever they want.

Add in the fact that he’s hitting LTIR at the same time every year, and is coincidentally recovering shortly after his team no longer needs to be cap compliant, and it’s all very shady shit.

It should have been addressed when Tampa Bay pulled it off, simply because of the unfair advantage it gives.
Obvious about what? Using the rules to their benefit?

I mean sure it sucks and everyone knows what they are doing but again....if its not against the rules then....too bad

The only way to fix it is to apply the cap to the playoff team also. No team can start game with a team that makes more than the cap. The teams can spend as much as they like but the team that hits the ice must be under the cap.....

Even if it was true, 33% of a fan base is definitely not a small minority with statistical insignificance.

And what about the people who do care, but don’t talk about it?

Seems like you’ve made up some odd statistics in your mind.

Seems like they circumnavigated circumvention and came around up behind everyone again. The Knights need the Captain America "on your left" meme for these moves. It's amazing to watch.

Back in the real world, where everyone should try to work in whenever possible: the owners are never doing a soft cap with a luxury tax. As mentioned above, seasons were lost because the owners wanted a "hard" cap; they were offered the soft cap/luxury tax idea in 2004 and burned the paper with the idea on it before it settled on their desk
Lol the real world. Every other league has adopted it. This league is a joke in comparison to other professional leagues. However, the league has expanded and grown. 2004 was 20 years ago. Are you saying your opinion on Anything hasn't changed in 20 years?

They probably could treat post season cap overages like player performance bonuses. Team pays for them in the next year.

Exactly. Leafs have spent more. Lol this is hilarious because alot of people don't even look up facts . They moan because they hate winning. Vegas run roughshod please.
The difference being Leafs players are legitimately hurt and potentially have career ending injuries like Muzzin. They aren't randomly getting back legitimate super stars to add to their playoff roster.

This is an incredibly disingenuous and lazy way of looking at it.

This is ridiculous. Do you think if the league or other teams or insurers who are probably footing the bills wanted to verify Stone's condition, Vegas could just say "So sorry, the CT scanner is broken"?

I’m sure they CT and MRI scanned it, to say they didn’t is laughable.
