He means this yearI mean if you watched the first game, you'd have seen Stone wasn't ready to come back,

math from "ViverLusVegas"... *checks watch* checks outLess than 0.1% of all NHL fans care about this issue. Nobody who matters within the NHL cares what those fans think.
Oh I know they meant this year, it's just that last year it was obvious Stone wasn't ready in game 1, so it's a little odd that the standard hasn't been met already. He means this year
Two years ago, when Vegas couldn’t trade Dadonov at the deadline because they knew they needed Mark stone back earlier than they planned simply because they were hanging onto the last wild card spot, the team ended up conveniently putting 4 guys on LTIR to offset the 14 million they needed to activate Stone (and Martinez). This team has done it three years running now, flip-flopping players to stash on ltir until playoffs. Three years. Just because other teams don’t do it doesn’t make it right. If I watch a flash mob run into an Apple Store and grab everything, I’m not just gonna do it because they’re getting away with it.
This would kill about half the teams in the NHL.
People need to learn what circumvention is.
Vegas isn't breaking or bending any rules. For starters, their medical staff deemed Stone out for the rest of the season. Even fi any of you are doctors, you don't know his medical history or any current issues he may have so you can't go and claim some conspiracy.
Fun fact: Your favorite team can also use LTIR.
You realize LTIR is something teams don't want to use unless absolutely necessary? Some guys heal faster than others, but if they're on LTIR they have to be out for a minimum amount of time.
Fair enough....I will say this though.....if I am a player who is hurt and it benefits my team by being out a few extra weeks. then....ouch oh.....f***.....yeah.....still feel that there......ow oh f*** me! Oh the humanity!!!
What doctor is ever going to say "you are not experiencing any pain"?
If anyone thinks this doesn't happen their head is up their ass.
People fake shit all the time and they get paid minimum wage and can't actually afford to do it.....but they do.
Well, the TB one was a bit of a fluke simply because the time period between the previous season and the new one was 2 months. Kucherov did have a legitimate injury, had a well known surgery and did return in less than the average timetable for that surgery. Sure he could have likely returned earlier, but if this was a normal season, he likely would have sat out another month longer and been back in January.Tampa bay did this though they also in a way got lucky it being a short season when they did it. If Vegas does their little phoney social media video post of Stone suiting up and returning for game 1 then it’s just being more blatant what they’re doing.
Oh I agree 100%. But again, there nothing stopping other players/teams from doing the same.
Maybe Stones goods to at the beginning of April. Maybe he'd rather rest for 2 weeks rather than play (somewhat) meaningless games. It's an imperfect system but one that every team can take advantage of.
Truth, the NHL isn’t going to listen to an insignificant minority of the fan baseLess than 0.1% of all NHL fans care about this issue. Nobody who matters within the NHL cares what those fans think.
I keep having it out with my own board over this. The narrative that a guy who had 2 back surgeries in 9 months and was 100% for game one makes me angry.Oh I know they meant this year, it's just that last year it was obvious Stone wasn't ready in game 1, so it's a little odd that the standard hasn't been met already.
Yeah as I said in another post, I think it far more likely they are coming back early because the games are so much more important. They'll stick through it far longer than in regular season.I keep having it out with my own board over this. Patrice Bergeron played with a punctured f***ing lung. Just because guys play doesn't mean they're anywhere near 100%.
It was also crickets when I suggested Edmonton could have LTIR'd McDavid or Kane this year and bring them back for playoffs. Since you know, players are faking injuries and sitting out for major chunks of the season.Yeah as I said in another post, I think it far more likely they are coming back early because the games are so much more important. If game 4 was just a regular season game no way Tkachuk thinks of playing, but the importance of the game he was willing to risk further damage until he could play no more.
Spare me. It’s a savings account.People need to learn what circumvention is.

It would be the same marquee signings to big teams and same dead weight with draft picks attached sent to the bottom feeders. Then the picks develop into stars and rinse, repeat. It’s why Vegas doesn’t ever have tk bother developing their own players. Why bother? That takes time and energy.Half the teams at the deadline are already out of it.
And they would still have to become cap compliant at the beginning of the season.
It would certainly be interesting lol
If I'm being honest.. I think Kane is legit playing hurt and needs some rest. I don't think it would hurt our playoff chances one bit and I'd love to see him get some injury recovery time right about now till say round 1.Put me in the camp that if a team from Canada, not named Toronto Maple Leafs did this, they nhl would step in right away. IF McDavid got injured tonight, said that he would not be back till the playoffs and the oilers then went out and spent all of the cap money they just got on friday? This place would go ape shit and the nhl would step. There is no doubt in my mind. This is what Vegas is doing with Stone's 9.5 mil cap hit. He will be back for game 1 of the playoffs. Vegas would have kept Eichel on for longer but different medias started questioning it after seeing Eichel out and about
You preach about the only people complaining being those are fans of teams that don’t get out of the 1st round and then you don’t understand why someone questions your class?Your reply makes no sense, but sure.
On paper…yes. Technically any team could try to do this. But it could also be argued that the results wouldn’t be the same.Oh I agree 100%. But again, there nothing stopping other players/teams from doing the same.

People always act like players and/or teams have nothing to gain in the whole spiel as a defense, and it's crazy. They're not dumb, they know sitting out an extra three weeks can really improve their odds for a Cup.Fair enough....I will say this though.....if I am a player who is hurt and it benefits my team by being out a few extra weeks. then....ouch oh.....f***.....yeah.....still feel that there......ow oh f*** me!
