Shed limit.

Lock the amount a team can overshoot salary by 1/8th of the total salary cap post TDL with load management recognized as a mechanism. Let teams sink in the standings without their big guns at their own peril.

Suddenly, it’s a known amount. Everyone gets their ice cream.

(Drunk thoughts……ayyy lmao)

I want ice cream…..
I added to the post after the fact, but that trick would grant all teams ice cream.

Ice cream for every-flipping-body!

It’s almost a franchise tag, but broader. Wanna make sure Michkov’s knees are solid for an extra number of games? Fine. Wanna rest Pettersson so you don’t rush him back after a shoulder nag? Fine.

That would at least make for set parameters, placing ‘tagged’ players in a new category of sorts. At that point, if a team suffers due to not having a star’s services, they waved the wand that handicapped them on their own accord.

It's funny, but who cares? If people want to root against Vegas for "cheating", so be it. But realistically everyone wishes their team could be in the same boat. It's one thing if it were such a loophole that the league knows they have to take immediate action to change it. But 2 of the last 3 champs have circumvented the cap and there's been no change. At this point it's the smart thing to do. If you can't beat them, join them. Not saying it's "right" or "good for the game", but if the league allows it, how can you fault Vegas?
I don't care if people want to root against vegas just because "f*** Vegas" or for no reason at all. No need to find a reason people

They’d get ice cream, still. Can’t say they wouldn’t circumvent the line. LOL

Crazy, though. I really do believe that a sanctioned 1/8th-cap bloat post TDL would curb abuse through limiting the amount a team could overreach.

Forces GMs to get creative? Check.

Forces owners to be better to their teams’ supporters and ante the hell up? Check.

Forces front office competitiveness by making clear that no team will be stopped if they can field the right roster into the postseason? Check.

I don’t think I’ve seen anything that limits spendthrift owners AND empowers ballsy teams so well.
They’d circumvent the 1 scoop rule and take 2 scoops! Dirty bastard!

(Sorry i am on the ice cream train, I don’t want to actually talk hockey)

If I am other teams, at this point if a game is out of reach, I am aiming to put him back on LTIR for real.

I don't think players are in the wrong for targeting him in the slightest.

I respect him less than anyone in the league and I am sure many fans/players feel the same way, the whole Vegas organization is trash as far as I am concerned.

My team doesn't even play him unless it is in the finals and I think Vegas is gone before then... but this is ridiculous, such a blemish on the game to have such morally corrupt people in Vegas.

I wonder how players on other teams feel about this. We know how fans feel about it, and how fans of Vegas feel about it. But if I was playing on another team seeing Stone's magical recovery every year, it would be frustrating. Maybe Jamie Benn's cheap shot hit last year had some extra motivation behind it. Well we'll see what happens tonight.

😂😂😂

No-contact practice for game 82 four days ago.

Today, game shape ready and 100% good to go.

Three years running. The Knights are just flaunting it now because they know no one is coming to check out how legit it is.
Frank Servalli said on the DFO today that enough teams are asking questions and being like " for real?" that this loophole might be closed.

Here is my opinion on it.

1) they are using the rules as they see fit. I'm fine with it in general.
2) I think that once you do it two or three times, its becomes more planned than it does just taking advantage of a situation, and thats where the problem lies for me.
