Amazing how small an amount of success was necessary for Nucks fans to remind the rest of the league why the Vancouver fans were universally reviled circa 2011....
Not sure if Oilers and Leafs fans are considered to be the rest of the league. Also i think teams like Oilers and Leafs are more hated around the league. Leafs due to their big market popularity and their fans. Oilers because they accumulated 100s of 1st overall picks and still cant do anything while wasting career of McDavid.

Raise the “Won 3 games” banner next.

Probably the best you’ll get anytime soon.
You seem to be the expert here on when to raise banners and what banners we should raise. You probably have a banner business, dont you?? 😂

Neither of these teams will be raising anything meaningful anytime soon.

Also a pretty terrible chirp 0/10 for creativity
Tell him to raise the banner in his room for 0/10 creativity 🤣

And the oilers twice… less we forget
They played Oilers 3 times. So i guess people are right, we did face lots of mediocre teams like Oilers 😜

lol a rating system on a post is really 10/10 material
Will you raise a banner for that? Or no?

Do you have any reason to believe a record like this wouldn't be typical of one of the top 2-3 teams in the league?
Let's take a look at the other divisions:
Atlanta - only 2 teams are in the bottom 10 of the league
Metropolitan - only 1 are in the bottom 10 of the league
Central - only 2 teams are in the bottom 10 of the league

vs.

Pacific - with 5 teams in the bottom 10
So, being in a weaker division may have helped Canucks here.

Now of course maybe the top 3 teams in the league are just feasting off of the bottom half of the league which might be the case. Let's take a look:

[NYR] 9-4 (13 games) against top 16 vs 14-5 (19 games) against bottom 16 in league.
NYR has feasted against the bottom 16 but also has a good record against the top 16 albeit only playing 13 games against the top 16 vs Canucks with 16 games.

[VGK] 11-6 (17 games) against top 16 vs 10-8 (18 games) against bottom 16 (5 of them are OT losses)
VGK gained a decent amount of points against the bottom 16 but also like NYR has a good record against the top 16.

Differences between those two teams and Canucks? NYR are 6-2 and VGK are 8-1 against teams in the top 10 vs the Canucks who are 2-5...

Ultimately there is still more games to play to really determine how things shake out for the Canucks in my opinion....

Yeah, Canucks advanced stats are poor, counting stats are good. At this point, with 35 games played, advanced stats have far more predictive ability than counting stats.

It's not necessarily the PDO itself, but Canucks would have to have some of the highest relative xGoal efficiency in the history of advanced stat-tracking.

It is possible that they'll be the exception, but it's pretty fair to consider it less likely than them simply regressing towards a scoring level indicated by their advanced stats, just like most other teams.

To all the salty oilers fans

Our team has played the most games with 5 b2b

Your team has only played 1 b2b

Your team has one of the softest schedule thus far
It's very true. If you look, February is an absolute killer schedule for us. 12 games in 20 days.

We are currently not in a playoff spot and don't have a real goalie tandem. Hoping that gets fixed before February because there is no way Stu and Pickard can han handle that February schedule. Also, hoping we are in a playoff spot before that stretch.

the underlying numbers are pretty decent

Rangers have a worse Xgf% than vancouver 5v5 with venue adjustment

Haven't we played sharks 4 times oilers 3?
They played sharks 3 times. If they played sharks 4 times then Canucks would have the best record in NHL history after 35 games and would have 500 goals according to some people here. The sharks are a magical team, when you play them a couple of times you magically end up 1st in the league.
