Not really a fan of Pettersson. One of those players that CAN play up the lineup... but ideally doesn't because they are exploitable, unreliable, streaky, and error-prone.

I don’t like the trade for the mere fact he is ufa needing a new contract. Canucks better a) sign him and b) hope he doesn’t forget to play hockey and get overpaiditus like EP and hronek. Sure? But could you imagine Savoie on McDavids wing? 1st line potential . What a steal .

Meh.

Since 2023 McDavid is more of a “Top 10 player” type rather than a “best in the world” type that can turn scrubs into scorers.

Looks like teams will need to make trade earlier this time around, because a lot of competent D is already getting traded.

This is obviously a huge upgrade for Vancouver, going from Desharnais who has been just tragic this year to 3Petey.

But they still need another top 6 Winger (Or 2 if boeser leaves) and a true #2 Center.

Luckily they still have a ton of good assets, both picks players and prospects

I got carried away there, but really, what I'm trying to nail down is that Pettersson is a dumb player, and makes the kind of gaffes that are just outright inexcusable.
