Horvat extended and a 2nd for Hronek (not extended) Ratu and a 4th.

i dont understand what the direction is here.

This only makes sense if Boeser / Jt. Miller are on their way out and more picks are coming back in, AND there's an extension for Hronek incoming.

What a stupid, short sighted move. We very likely would have gotten a better player(s) with that mid 1st and high 2nd in a deep draft, along with the benefit of an ELC.

This is the current management’s version of the Gudbranson trade. Almost identical assets given up, albeit a better player in return. Blueberries is still running the agenda of this team. I hope there’s a huge drop in season ticket sales this year, f*** Frankie.

Let's trade Horvat and a second for Hronek, a cap dump, and a B-level prospect (at best)! Idiotic - we turned a middling futures oriented move into Sbisa, Bonino (Hronek is Bonino in this case) and a pick.

At the very least, if you're going to make this deal, do it in the off-season after we've increased the value of our own picks as much as possible.

Not sure about this…. Only way I can live with this is if we’re making another trade to recoup a 1st… but seems like a weird one. I could think of better options than hronek.

At first glance, a 1st and 2nd for a top 4 RHD that is 24/25 years old didn't seem that bad, but the comments I'm seeing make this look damning. I'll admit I don't know a ton about Hronek, so I guess I will wait for the hate to blow over, and for a logical assessment of the player to be released.

So this is where were at...

IN:
Hronek
Raty
Beauvillier
3rd 2023

OUT:
Horvat (50% retained)
Schenn
2nd in 2023

I mean, were still younger at least?

Bizarre move by Stevie Y because the Wings are close to a playoff spot here..There has to be a big move coming.

I cant imagine if NYI retains this years pick, and that pick goes to the top of the draft next year.

Of course. Why wouldn't they do this? Just when management starts to pile up a number of small-to-medium sized transaction wins and I start to change my opinion on them...they go and do something absolutely clueless. Why wouldn't they?

There was no way this organization could actually commit to doing the right thing.

They are just always in perpetual "make the playoffs" mode. Which has resulted in them making the playoffs once 9 years. Fantastic plan.

And yeah, great for them that they now have a nice, cost-controlled top-four RHD locked up for....one more season. A season where they'll scrape and claw to make 9th place. Amazing. Because when you're trying to make playoffs, you surely trade your fringe 1C captain first!

If he’s a legit rhd top four, I’m ok with it. f*** the rebuild, not into writing another four years to see a decent team.

Flipping this pick and more for Chychrun and have a dominant Seider and Chychrun pairing for the next decade

And, to be clear, this is absolutely the case.

If he can be the Toews to Hughes' Makar and be a pairing that tilts the ice for 25 minutes/game, this will be a win regardless of the price.

This is a really fascinating trade.

Really seems like they are making a big bet on their pro scouting chops.

At this point can we trade our 1st round pick too so that we can all just laugh at this dumpster fire Allvin and co. are cooking up?
