Is this type of partial insurance on a contract standard, or is this another Benning classic?

As context, the Ferland contract turned out to be uninsurable and the Canucks had to pay the entire contract out of pocket after Ferland played 13 games or something.

I thought Poolman was going to be on LTIR for quite awhile? Cap move by the Avs?

And for the sake of my OCD sanity, please edit the title to VAN. WTF is VCR? Took awhile to read that.

He is. Poolman is basically LTIRetired at this point. Problem is we couldn't accrue cap space with him on LTIR all season. It's partly why we couldn't acquire Tanev at the TDL. So this is more a move to avoid using LTIR

Poolman only played around 40 games or so and had little effect while on the Nucks blueline.

Post concussion syndrome brought an early end to Tucker Poolman’s career.
