Rough to ask a player to waive and then not make a tradeHow does it get this far and leaked without knowing if he'll waive
So why did they trade Horvat then, just to acquire another center?
Aside from the Swedish GM getting a Swedish player angle.
Just a question for Vancouver fans, is this a sign they're going all in with the murky situation of Petterson's RFA or a sign that they're trying to show him that they're able to compete with him on the roster or a bit of both?
A little bit of everything. Ultimately I think this isn't necessarily about Pettersson. They're doing this because of their cap situation; they have a window to win which I believe is defined by the contract that Hughes is currently on (because after that he'll likely be a $15M player). And there is definitely a window this season specifically before a bunch of guys get raises, whether in Vancouver or somewhere else, like Pettersson, Hronek, Joshua, Blueger etc.
He's probably worth it. To keep Lindholm, you're looking at that kind of extension anyway.Because Horvat wanted 8.5M and we needed to trade him to get a RHD.
Opportunity to be in the Top 6 somewhere. Does not mesh with Tocchet/Toccet's system. Why? What incentive does he have to go to the dumpster fire in Calgary
Bold of you to assume we will get a 1stFlames fans were underwhelmed by the Zadorov deal, they'll be underwhelmed again in this one. Allvin gonna bend Conroy over again.
Kuzmenko, 1st, B prospect (Like 7-10 on Van's prospect depth chart)
Solid. He's not Backlund level, but only Danault really is. He's an above average defensive player. He doesn't deserve Selke votes, but lots of guys get them who don't. He'd be similar defensively to EP.Calgary fans, I know Lindholm was up for a Selke nomination 2 years back but how is his defense now?
Horvat was traded for the first round pick that was used to acquire Hronek as D was a much bigger need.So why did they trade Horvat then, just to acquire another center?
Aside from the Swedish GM getting a Swedish player angle.
I will say when Jim Rutherford/alvin wants to do a trade they do it.
It’s been rumored on Reddit to be a first round pickBold of you to assume we will get a 1st
At the time our first was looking like a top 7 pick. Vs trading a mid 1st.He's probably worth it. To keep Lindholm, you're looking at that kind of extension anyway.
You could've used your own first to get Hronek anyway if it was that important.
