I get the opportunity piece but surely be could force the Canucks hand and get to somewhere he’d prefer (likely not Alberta). They can’t just keep benching him for the rest of that contract with that AAV.

I predict the following lineup

Pettersson Jt. Miller Boeser
Hoglander Lindholm Mikheyev
Garland's line (the real first line)
Aman Pius Suter Lafferty

Nice move by Vancouver, I think the only weakness they had on their roster was at 2C with how well their top line was working. Likely comes in at a comfortable cost for both sides, at least based on the trade threads I've seen on here.

Kuzmenko, a prospect and a 1st for Lindholm was fairly well received by both fans in the thread I saw from about a week ago.

Pettersson and Miller have been centering separate lines for 90% of the season. I think Lindholm makes sense more because of the flexibility that he can play wing and center, but I doubt Pettersson and Miller would be together regularly

Didn't you just guarantee that Hoglander was a part of the trade?

Interesting, Dreger saying Kuzmenko OR picks/prospects, not necessarily Kuz & another top piece or 2.

I wondered if a team looking to stay competitive might look at Kuzmenko for their rental as a decent way to go, get back a top 6 player for next season.
Not necessarily

Dreger is only saying that if Kuz isn't involved they'll go the route of picks/prospects. Not something like a deal centered around another roster piece

We don't know what the Kuzmenko deal fully is at this point

So why did they trade Horvat then, just to acquire another center?

Aside from the Swedish GM getting a Swedish player angle.
They picked Miller over Horvat as his asking price was too high. And that trade gave ended up giving them Hronek and Raty
