Bzerst isn't a B prospect at this point. He's an A prospect. I'd rather trade our 2024 1st and 2025 1st. And keep Bzerst
I think getting EP someone was more the plan as well as having the lotto line as an option. He was brought in to play on the 2nd line, not to play with Pettersson.
Canucks aggressively going after a 2C was one of the NHLs worst kept secrets this season
Hunter Brzustewicz is a blue chip prospect, Canucks instead kept Podkolzin
not that he would have get Canucks Lindholm, but yeah.
prospects in plural, Willander and who else?, now that Hunter is gone
or do you seriously think Podz as a blue chip?
We can fit Lindholm him and still be able to give Petey and Hronek raises. Kuzmenko clears up 5.5 million for next year. Myers clears up 6 million. It’s likely they let DeSmith walk and have Silovs backup which is another couple million. And they also let Joshua or Lafferty walk who will want a couple million and replace him with a cost controlled Podkolzin.I like this trade for the Canucks - great to see a team go for it.
Rick Dhaliwal - in the link above - says Vancouver hopes to resign Lindholm. Given their cap and other UFAs, that seems like a real challenge. Even if they move Garland out, they have Pettersson and other holes to fill. Any Canuck fans care to opine?
Again, even if its a rental, I like the trade.
Nah BRZ is better. Just compare there projections on Dobber Prospects. Kerins has been on a steady decline from having a ~65 point, 2nd line projection whereas Brz is being projected a ~85 point defenseman with superstar potential. Does he ever reach that? Probably not but the potential is absolutely thereBrz is basically Rory Kerins in 2022. Superficially it’s WOW LOOK AT THOSE NUMBERS but when you watch him play … there are a lot of warts and question marks there. And I’ve said repeatedly that I wasn’t getting excited about Brz until I saw how he adapted to the AHL.
You responded to a post quoting another post and didn’t read what it was about. That’s on me now I guess. Good luck this year, the Canucks look good.I’m talking about the quote I posted, I’m not running around reading all your posts…. Man your complex needs some psychotherapy treatment. Good luck buddy.
He’s not an overager, he’s 19. Overagers are guys that play in the CHL in their 20 year old season. If he starts the year in the OHL next season, that’s his overage seasonBrz is a B prospect that he having a far better than expected season so far as an overager, doesn't mean he's a bluechip A grade prospect though.
He's a wildcard prospect if anything.

I totally understand that point, he’s a late birthday. But he isn’t an overagerThe thing that worried alot of people regarding his production on the Canucks board is he's a late 2023 draftee. I believe he's only a month removed from the cutoff date to be eligible for the 2022 draft.
While it is his D+1 season, it's kind of hard to gauge his production.

Would Calgary have bruz play in the AHL next year ? How has their Coaches worked with young D?
Pretty sure he would stay in juniors for the Canucks. D petey and Lek could be joining Abby's AHL team for seasoning. Willander to stay in college I think
Part of Alvin's motivation in including Brux was to unbury him in our D depthThere's definitely room for him in the AHL. Other than Boltmann, I don't think we have RD worth mentioning near graduating and Boltmann is a ways out. We might graduate a few AHL guys and that creates room in the AHL.
Huska is good working with young D. Based on the trajectory of our dmen, it seems the Wranglers are still doing a good job with dmen.
