Honest take, watching TSN now for the season opener and expecting D Mitchell and the Cavs to take this one. Surprised Leo is back after Kate Beirness called him old on air last season. First time I'm rooting against the Raps. Kinda glad I can be called a basketball hater now.

I thought Koloko was excellent defensively and provides what the Raptors lack, rim protection but offensively he was shaky. Likely nerves though.
He's raw but he has great tools and potential. Excited to see him develop.

Siakam looked incredible tonight and carried the team on his back until he got into foul trouble. It was nice to see GTJ, OG, Precious and Barnes step up in the fourth with some big plays.

Curious, you are a Raptors fan or not?

It was a really nice win and start to the season. I won't lie, I wasn't super confident in the 4th

Sloppy game as expected in 1st one. They benefited from Garland missing 2nd half. Cavs will be much better when Rubio returns this season.

Nice to see Scottie get more time as primary ball initiator on offense. I hope Nurse sticks to the plan, his future is the PG of the team, at least on offense. I think they still need at least one traditional guard on defense to run around screens.

Man if the Leafs had the Raps heart. Sigh.

We always hear hockey analysts and coaches talking about "playing the right way". The Raptors do that.

Opening night is always a coin toss no matter who you play, so it's great to get the win. Cleveland lost Garland but we were missing a large part of our second unit.

As usual the Raptors knew what they were doing in the draft - Koloko did exactly what they needed from him. For two years I've been saying they don't need a star centre, just someone who can come in for 10-15 minutes and provide a different look, or play a little more in the occasional game when they're matched up against a team with a really big front court. Koloko looks like he can be that, which I expected eventually but not right away. And who knows what he can be in a few years.

OG had an interesting game. He was in tunnel vision mode in the first half, trying to do way too much and dribbling into trouble. In the second half he worked within the team and the offence and looked great. When OG tries to be 'the guy' it rarely goes well. He just doesn't have that kind of offensive skill. When he plays within his abilities he contributes offensively, and his D is almost always there.

Damnnnnn........missed game one just tuned in to the 3rd quarter of the Nets game......since I've tuned in Siakam has splashed all his shots (2 threes and a deuce) and scotty has done the same with a beautiful post move and a three....

If these 2 are gonna play like this this year our team is gonna ball - WOW

Frustrating game. Trent/Achiuwa/Anunoby have such low IQ at times. Just way too much wild dribbling by them.

Barnes did a great job on Irving but they kept bringing VanVleet/Trent's man to set screens and get the switch.
