Report: Houston Rockets' Kevin Porter Jr. leaves arena after halftime confrontation - TSN.ca

Houston Rockets point guard Kevin Porter Jr. lost his temper during a heated halftime discussion and didn't return to the court, leaving the Toyota Center during the second half of Saturday's 124-111 loss to the Denver Nuggets, sources told ESPN.

Porter became upset after assistant coach John Lucas challenged him, revisiting an issue that led to Porter losing his composure on the bench during the first half, sources said.

The Rockets, who trailed 77-55 at halftime of their seventh consecutive loss, did not return to the court until moments before the third quarter began.

"We had a spirited debate," Rockets head coach Stephen Silas said during his postgame media availability. "I have certain demands of this team as far as playing hard. ... I wasn't satisfied with the effort."

The Rockets announced during the second half that Porter was questionable to return due to his left thigh being evaluated. Porter has been bothered for weeks by a left thigh contusion, causing him to miss several games, but that was not the issue that led to his absence after halftime, according to sources.

Silas did not mention Porter specifically during his postgame comments.
would love to try and pry christian wood out of there.

Have the Miami Heat found new gems with 10-day contracts? - South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Q: Bring The Dragon back. -- Isa

A: Don’t kid yourself, Goran Dragic would love nothing more. He attended the Heat’s Tuesday victory over the Wizards at FTX Arena and has been working out there, as his situation with the Raptors is sorted out. But, again, unless Goran goes to another team in the interim, he cannot be brought directly back by the Heat from the Raptors. With all due respect to Mario Chalmers, Goran is exactly what the Heat could use at the moment. But I doubt many, if any, have had second thoughts about utilizing his salary as the means to acquire Kyle Lowry.

hilarious and ridiculous that dragic is practicing in miami and hanging out with his old team while under contract with us.

Makes you wonder about that whole "leaving the team for personal reasons" thing that happened a couple months back. personal reasons like he hates it here and he kinda sucks anyways so it's no big loss. Gosh the NBA is such a players' league it's not even funny.

barnes going for his 1st NBA triple/double tonight:
9pts/8rbs/7assts
and no turnovers

9 mins left in the 4th

Some absolute horrible officiating at the end of this Raptors and Bucks game. Portis playing like a clown and somehow getting away with it... Gives a forearm to the chin on a charge and ends up at the free throw line.

Cousins being released by the Bucks before he finished his shower tonight... Likely zero chance he signs in Toronto. But would love him, he brings a toughness we lack... He likely goes for a title run and a bench spot but hard to imagine Boucher and Birch getting more minutes.

i dont think we can sign anyone without going over the luxury tax as is, thats prob why dj wilson hasnt been signed to a league min deal already. dragic is holding up everything lol.

Why is there a guy dressed like Waldo (as in "Where's Waldo?") in the background sometimes? He spent the last few plays in one of the tunnels on the Raptors' end of the court , leaning on the railing with his bright red/white striped shirt and blue pants.

weird.

This is the best Siakam has played likely since the 2019 season.

I really like Achiuwa coming off the bench.

Siakam looks great. I think it's 90% mental with him. He's smiling, laughing, has that joy and energy back. In the bubble and in Tampa he seemed sullen and beaten down (which I think many of us can relate to!)

Scottie seems to have hit a bump in the road with everybody being back in the lineup. I think the instincts are there but he looks tentative, hesitating to shoot and I think not being aggressive enough on defence. I'm not especially worried and I would rather he hit these bumps now and learn rather than run into it a year or two down the road.

A good defensive game plan vs the Suns being wasted by the love for the 3 ball. Tight game and its not falling? Cant have Precious and Birch with 3s. Drive the lane.

Booker is trash

Siakam should never touch the ball in clutch situations

Free throws missed cost us the game...

Good effort despite the absence of GTJ and Barnes. This team is coming together nicely
