The more I think about it, the more I hope the raptors trade the 4th pick + Baynes to OKC for SGA. I would then look at making the Siakim trade with Golden State for the 7th plus Wiseman

FVV
SGA
Trent Jr
OG
Wiseman

Seems confused. They're accelerating the retool by acquiring SGA but then they're also going with Wiseman as their starting C?

It's not about accelerating anything. It's about building a young core that will be here for years and gives us a more complete lineup. Wiseman would be the 4th or 5th option for us on offense but with his size and athleticism on our team, I think he would flourish.

That 7th overall can also add a core piece to the lineup like Alperen Sengun or maybe a further trade down and get someone like J.T Thor who is going to be the steal of round 1.

SGA is 22 years old, getting him doesnt accelerate anything if they choose to trade spicy p and do a reboot of sorts. hes only 2 years older than suggs, and would be what? a senior in college now? its just one direction they could technically go, but i realllly doubt OKC makes that trade.

Ya. Trading the 4th pick for a borderline All star that is almost done his rookie deal absolutely accelerates the rebuild.

Trading a 27 year old borderline all star for a raw (but very talented big) completely decelerates the rebuild.

This is a weird half measure IMO.

Better to trade for SGA and then try and sign Holmes (27) or Allen (23) to fill the hole at C.

heres the thing though, as long as siakam is the number 1 option, i dont believe this is a championship team, so do you trade siakam and swing for the fences with a younger, better player + picks or hope suggs/green/mobley put you over the top with your current roster? we are already teetering in the middle and if we lose lowry we are prob a 6 - 8 playoff seed even adding the 4th pick. bottom line is we NEED a number 1 option to go with siakam if we choose to keep the core as is, and you arent getting one without trading that pick.

also, how are you fitting allens (likely)max deal in with siakams? and holmes doesnt really move the needle for me tbh. getting wiseman is being discussed in a deal that would include lottery picks too, so you have more bullets for this FO to find another siakam or FVV or OG.

I really like this. It actually still nets the Raptors a very decent player at #7.

everyday i go back and forth between who i want more, suggs, green or mobley...its torture. but like torture by tickle. its horrible but fun at the same time.

this was interesting...im sure its nothing, but maybe its something lol

I've also read somewhere that said Houston was very interested in pairing Porter Jr with Green. Not believing anything till it comes from Woj tho.

Its enjoyable knowing we are going to be getting an elite prospect regardless of what happens.

yep, so nice not having to look at players in the 7 - 9 range lol. and with the way we develop players im pretty confident anyone of who we pick will end up being extremely impactful.

Not to sign entitled here but I'm a little disappointed how little insight we have received on where things stand with Masai throughout the process. He's given no indication one way or the other if he's returning or not, and neither has MLSE. It's like we're in a limbo with no clear direction. To top that off we just lost one of our key assistant coaches.

Like, I get it that you want to keep things firmly under wraps but the fanbase is really passionate and they're legitimately concerned about losing the key figure of this team.

I think Masai and them are waiting to see if Canada lets them come back to Toronto. I think Masai said something about that'd be a big factor ( I might be wrong about that though)

He's still scouting. Which is great for the team, but Masai shouldn't be tipping his hand to the media just to assuage the fans.

He is a great asset. He needs to negotiate his next contract like he's a FA player. That will get him the most money. He deserves it.

i personally dont think masai is leaving. i actually think getting 4th in the draft has him really excited about what he can do with this team going forward.

Grange's source indicates the movement is slow but it is moving. The expectation is it will get done sooner then later. One agent said he is coming back.

ye when i saw him scouting for us i had a strong feeling he was returning. this 4th pick was such a blessing. i think hes really excited about rebuilding this team...and theres no doubt he loves the city.

also...LOLLLLL @ grange's profile pic.

Feschuk on Overdrive mentioned he heard they were hoping to get Masai's contract wrapped up before the NBA finals are over. He also heard it's imminent.
