No, just no lmao. It's bad enough that the hockey version of Ben Simmons (Marner) already plays in Toronto. On top of that, if Simmons and Siakam are on the court together in the clutch without a true #1 option on the team shifting defensive assignments in their favour, we're gonna be choking more 4th Q leads than last year guaranteed. On top of that, BEN SIMMONS HIMSELF said he is not changing at this point, and he "is what he is." Those are Ben Simmons' own words on whether he needs to fix his game.I would do a Lowry sign and trade + 2022 First + 2024 First for Ben Simmons. I don't know if Philly would do that, they would probably want a younger player than Lowry as the main piece.
I doubt Lowry is going to re-sign here, so it would basically be two firsts for Simmons for us.
Simmons, OG, Siakam, 4th overall, FVV, Trent jr would be real nice to build around - especially if somehow that 4th pick is Mobley or Green (Suggs would be a bit redundant with Simmons and FVV).

If Hack-A-Ben actually working and costing the Sixers their first ECF trip in The Process Era doesn't change the minds of Simmons defenders at this point then I guess nothing will lmao. I don't think he's a bad player either, I just don't think he's worth that type of asset return, especially being overpaid on a max contract, if the guy can't even shoot FTs and doesn't even want to improve his FT shooting.Ben Simmons is a very good player. He's not perfect, but he's one of the best defenders in the league, and he does a great job of running an offense.
The hate for him is getting out of hand - yes, he had a bad playoffs - it doesn't mean he's a bad player.
Adding an excellent player who is just about to turn 25 to your team helps you now and in the future - if Masai & Webster aren't looking at the cost to acquire him, they aren't doing their job.
if you think people were frustrated with derozan wait until this version of simmons plays for us. i never said i hated him. hes an elite defender and does other things very well. but we need an alpha on this team, not another player that cant make the shots in clutch time. also, hes had a pretty bad playoff career imo. not just this past season. when you career freethrow % is nearly the same as shaq, as a guard...you have a serious problem with your shot.Ben Simmons is a very good player. Simmons, OG, and Siakam would give you three of the best long, athletic, switchable defenders in the league - it would give our team a real identity, which we don't really have now.

yep and now hes back to square one with another serious injury and no chip with the clips. i still love him though haha.Extremely frustrating to think about knowing the team had an excellent chance of repeating last year and could have been destined for a three-peat if he came back and went along for (well, steered) the ride.

i have more hard feelings towards the clippers organization really, nba let them tamper like all season long. i flew from costa rica to toronto for for 36 hours for game 5, even though we didnt win that game that was hella fun and i will never forget it, and i was only in that position because of him and the raps. maybe he will come back one day...who knows!I have feelings towards him like an ex does a true love who they viewed as their soulmate -- cherished every moment with them, loved them dearly and will always do so deep down, will never forget the memories...but wished nothing but misery and failure the second they dumped me for no reason thinking the grass was greener on the other side...yet would take them back in a heartbeat with open arms if they came back recognizing they made a huge mistake and pissed away a couple prime years of their life on some well-known loser. Provided I hadn't moved on to something better myself (which the Raptors obviously hadn't).

yep, the nba is a joke to let that stuff happen. its already hard enough for smaller markets to survive given how much power players have to dictate where they want to play(whetcher under contract or not)People have different motivations. Kawhi wanted to win more championships, but he wanted to win at home. It would have meant more to him than winning however many in Toronto. It still stings that he left.
I will also forever dislike the Clippers because of the tampering they did all season long that season. f*** them.
If he doesn't land in Philly i'd be shocked. Philly's window is attached to Embiid and he probably has 5 years top at peak level.I hope the Raptors stay out of the Lillard sweepstakes. Someone's going to overpay for a 31-year old star on cusp of a steep decline.

theres no way the raps have interest in lillard. subtracting lowry and adding lillard while losing a bunch of other assests would actually make us worse.I hope the Raptors stay out of the Lillard sweepstakes. Someone's going to overpay for a 31-year old star on cusp of a steep decline.
Guesses as to what this is about?
