after the leafs debacle i want suggs even more. This dude has 'it'. Previously i wasn't a believer when people said that but as a toronto sports fan .... no more bitches on our teams please.

Do you remember Marner's OHL playoff performance post draft + Memorial cup?

Do I also remember his world junior performance? Yes yes I do.

The one where he led the team in scoring and Virtanen and Hicketts took stupid penalties to f*** the team.

Yeah, I guess that'll all on Marner.

wtf was harris doing? meth? jeezuz

My brief research shows that there is no publicly available list of what substances are banned according to these NBA guidelines, but it is know that marijuana isn't among them (since a lot of peoples' first instinct is to assume it's weed because it's the most likely thing for a person/player to be partaking in).

That said, there have only been 3 instances of anyone being suspended under this program since 1999:

Chris Anderson was suspended and got reinstated 2 years later
Tyreke Evans was suspended 2 years ago and is eligible for reinstatement this year
and OJ Mayo was suspended in 2016 and has never chosen to apply for reinstatement.

Whatever it was Harris tested positive for, seems likely it was kind of a big deal since the program he was suspended under governs "drugs of abuse" and they just went right to "you're done for a year and have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get back in". If it was something silly like he's on ADHD meds and forgot to declare them in his medical reports or whatever chances are they wouldn't have escalated right to this level, skipping over smaller suspensions and fines.

Also considering he was a 2nd round pick and an end-of-bench guy, I think there's a pretty significant chance his career is now shot.

Zach Harper put up his first mock draft on The Athletic.

Zach Harper's NBA Mock Draft 1.0: Top 10 surprises, and possible trade spots

The relevant bit for us is:

1) Pistons - Cade Cunningham
2) Rockets - Jalen Suggs
3) Cavaliers - Evan Mobley
4) Raptors - Jalen Green

I think the Raptors are getting either Suggs or Green in this draft, and either one is a win for them. With Suggs going to Houston here, let’s dig into the idea of Green as the pick for Toronto. First and foremost, Green can fly. His athleticism is absurd, and it makes him seem a lot bigger than 6-foot-5 on offense. His shooting should be there at the NBA level and we saw some positive signs of it at the G League level.
The question is whether he can be a lead guard you run your offense through. He’s not a great passer, and he really struggled in the pick-and-roll for G League Ignite. You don’t want to judge him too harshly for that because it’s an entirely new experience. His handle is good enough (and improving) to combine with his athleticism to make him a scoring master at the NBA level. We just need to know if he’ll be able to defend bigger wings or if he’ll find creativity in his playmaking for others.
Is a trade possible? Everybody around the league is looking to see what Toronto’s plan is. Is Masai Ujiri committing there for the long haul, and if he is, will MLSE give him the go-ahead to be aggressive in acquiring veteran talent? Raptors are either going to look for their next star, or they’re going to move it for a chance at veteran help or possibly trading down with a team who has an eye on Pascal Siakam.

You have to go for offensive upside with pick 4, being Kuminga or Green. The team has great defenders already but doesnt have that go to scorer yet. Green has by fat the highest scoring upside while Kuminga has the most unique skill set to become a Tatum/George/Kawhi type.

Suggs on the other hand, is a primary ball handler who scorer mainly at the basket off the PNR. He's essentially Malachi who's a better playmaker, leader and defender with a worse jumper.

Dont get me wrong, Suggs is arguably the most NBA ready player in the draft but has the lowest ceiling of the top 5 picks.

except Malachi is not very good….not anywhere close to star level.

i saw the list on realgm. let me see if i can find it...i remember seeing lsd on it and thought ok this must be a joke.

here it is...so ye, its either something pretty hardcore or he took somekind of banned pain meds for his foot.

I will be sorely disappointed if we trade the pick without getting someone that makes this team into a championship contender again for next season. Whoever we take this draft will be the best prospect we've had in a long time.
i think the one trade that could make some sense for both teams and that i would be open to is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the thunder, dude is legit amazing, and only 23..and hes from toronto which doesnt hurt. BUT, i dont think OKC does it(unless they wanna reboot the rebuild a bit and not waste 3 years of sga in the process)

Brutal...massive favorites at home and they blow it AGAIN!

Nice comeback but should never have been in that situation.

canadas men program wont ever get it done until EVERYONE makes it a priority like the US team does. i get why they dont but ye...
SGA, murrey, olynyk, boucher, brooks, thompson all missed the tourney.

we dont have the luxury of playing together all year so we need all our talent to show up.
really sucks man, i thought they were gonna finally get over the hump.

imagine this team with SGA at the point and not corey joseph :(
