Yet somehow he’s been given far more opportunity to prove himself than players with actual NBA upside.

Between Thomas and Patrick McCaw, Nurse really shows how fine that line is between genius and insanity.
 
Fred better pick it the f*** up quick- him and og. Siakam I liked that he didn't force it but good lord he only has one move.
 
That was an underwhelming season opener. We need all our incumbents to step up this season.

really? The majority of hit shots are off screens. Reddick is not that adept at creating offence for himself, and his defence is average at best. Thomas has produced when given the chance and proven he can contribute, his defence is getting better. He’s a solid bench piece that’s what he is.

Think the Raps are going to miss the energy at Scotiabank.

The playoff bubble was fine, as everyone gets up for the playoffs.

The grind of the regular season will be different than that.
 
Was bored deciding to watch the Lakers vs Mavs game

I've never seen Luka play on live in game just seen his highlights. He draws a lot of double teams and has already set up 5-6 open looks for his team mates. His play making abilities are incredible.

If he can get a consistent 3 point shot he has no offensive limit. The mavs are missing Kristaps but still playing well.

Lebron is still Lebron and can control a game with his ability to draw help on drives and find shooters.
 
Serge with two good games so far, too bad he didn't wait a little bit longer before the Giannis extension.
Would have definitely signed him to that same deal he has with LAC or a bit more to lure him back here.
 
Rumours of Norm being moved before the end of the year. What ya'll think he can fetch? I'm thinking a late 1st or 2 2nds.

I saw a suggestion of Powell and Boucher for Myles Tuner somewhere. I’m not big on Turner though

Really? Why not? He seems like the modern Centre. Would love to have him on the team at that price. Seems like we'd rip off Indy.

Well thats a tough loss. Officials played a part.
Big season for OG to show what he is offensively. So far nothing.
 
Our rebounding has been rough. Definitely miss Serge and Gasol there. The final sequence that lead to the Spurs lead sums up the rebounding problems.
 
Ever since Siakam received his contract extension it has been a slow decline in play. He built his game on hustle and to this date hasn't improved on his weaknesses enough to move away from the hustle guy approach.

This team isn't sniffing the finals for a while. The chemistry is sour and has been since the bubble. Players can't be happy having to live away from homes again this season.

We should be thankful that we were fortunate to snag the Championship when we did.

Time for some hard decisions to be made because I don't see a trade that puts this team into legit contention.

He got the extension last year and still went on to all NBA selection.

He played a pretty good game last night but you can see his conditioning isn’t where it needs to be and that’s why it drops off in the second half. The charge with less than 2 mins left was a bad call.

For me, Siakam had earned himself more time to figure it out.


I’d consider firing Nick Nurse. He did a great job in his first two years but this is a much different time. He has a lot less talent and much less paint scoring so this team needs to be even better defensively. The fact he keeps playing Matt Thomas (team worst -10 again and the drop in team defense was blatantly obvious with him on the floor) while they have real NBA players like Bembry, Davis, and potentially Paul Watson is inexcusable. Norm also getting too much leash, and I don’t know why he’s going with such a short rotation and running starters 40+ minutes in the second game of the year.

This was a winnable game but couldn’t get enough stops. Their best defensive rotation would have got it done but instead they’re 0-2 in two games they should have won.

Woof. Fire Nick Nurse?! For experimenting with a new bench a couple of games into a new season?? Yeah, no.
