We live in a world where companies slap their brands on almost everything. I have an NHL team-branded cup in my kitchen, and I'm sure Yeti probably sells shirts and hoodies with their logo on the front. There is likely much more overlap in terms of branded paraphernalia than most would thinkI can't see the reasoning where a professional hockey team could be "confused" with insulated beverage containers.
It’s not even a name. It’s just them refusing to pick a name.Utah Hockey Club is an entirely fine name for the team, they should just keep it going like that, tbh.
And if the trademark office says no, just *redacted* them.

Yes, I care about the sport I love, down to the uniform designs and branding of the league I watch.Do you really care if they lose out on the opportunity for people to pay half a pay cheque to buy a jersey?
That unfortunately conflicts with Utah (the University).

are u new... because Condors wasn't on the list of suggested names because it already exists and trademarkedBecause someone else suggested it first, and I replied to them saying "it sounds okay." You new here?
It's unique until new expansion teams do the same thing. Can they trademark "hockey club"? I also think "soccer club" and/or "hockey club" should only be used when the team is owned by the city.just keep utah hc. it's unique
not from what I see and HC was temporary because of the late transfer of the franchise SC/HC aren't, and this case, not owned by the city.... hence why SLC isn't being used .... this isn't a true expansion franchise either.... it's a relocated franchise....It's unique until new expansion teams do the same thing. I was surprised to learn that Utah is or was the gayest city in America. I never would have guessed, I assumed it was and is San Fransico
Utah Hockey Club isn't even a name for a team? It's like Finland national team, or Canada national team, or whatever. Utah hockey club, New york hockey club, Florida hockey club, etc.Utah Hockey Club is an entirely fine name for the team, they should just keep it going like that, tbh.

kinda true, but kinda not...Heck the CFL at one time had two teams called the rough riders ..

Lots of other sports have done it in their respective top-level leagues, however temporarily or permanently, especially in Europe. Think there's plenty of (place name) HC or FC. Washington Football Team existed for a season or two.Utah Hockey Club isn't even a name for a team? It's like Finland national team, or Canada national team, or whatever. Utah hockey club, New york hockey club, Florida hockey club, etc.
It would be a massive issue if you could trademark such a name.
