There was one conversation that can be partially explained as a character being deceptive and evasive, but that doesn't explain a character literally saying their internal thought process.

The idea that a team with two top 2 picks in 2 years can win another draft lottery is total bullshit.

There's multiple ways they can retain their second overall again, just to still be lottery eligible next year. What nonsense.

If you're the worst team in the league, you get the best individual odds at winning the first overall pick, and if you do win it, it doesn't count as winning the draft lottery because you didn't move up.

Since they didn’t move up it doesn’t count as a lottery win. Same for San Jose
