It is hard to get work visas for gaijin like me in Japan. To be fair it's hard for other non Japanese or basically anyone from another country. Japan is very ethnocentric

There isn't a specific work visa in Korea. There's a foreigner visa for which you can apply, and you just need proof of citizenship in another country, and you don't need any interviews or anything.

Of course, you can work while paying a 3.3% foreigner tax in Korea.
