Was looking at power rankings the other day and some people just have no clue what they're talking about.

The Raiders are 0-2, no, they're not in the top half of the league. If any 0-2 team deserved the benefit of the doubt, it should be the Bengals.

Browns lose to the Jets, Steelers lose to the Pats, yet both still go up in the rankings.

49ers go up in the rankings after losing their starting QB.

Winless Colts somehow ranked higher than the 1-1 Lions. Apparently the team that lost to the Jags and tied the Texans is better than the team that lost to the 4th ranked Eagles and beat the Commanders.

Jets required a miraculous comeback to beat the Browns, ranked higher than the Lions.

I learned everything there is to learn about the Colts when they responded to last year's choke in Jacksonville with an even worse performance last week. They don't have "it", they just don't. Someone has to win the 2020 NFC EastAFC South and it might be them, but they're no real threat.

Because 1) North Miami and Miami Gardens are kind of shitholes; 2) the Dolphins have been crap for a while and UM is a far cry from what they once were; 3) there's countless other entertainment options in Miami; and 4) South Florida is a highly cosmopolitan area with millions of folks coming from areas where American football is not well-known (and/or from areas like NY where loyalties are from birth and not easily, or at all, malleable) and it takes time, effort and success to build loyalty for a team in a relatively foreign sport in a highly diverse environment.

I'm telling you, you need to suspend what you know about American cities and sports followings before you spend significant time in Miami. It ain't nothing like anywhere else in the US and the same rules don't apply.
