VPNs have their uses, so I don't get why you would be against them.

"You can't game on a VPN."

Well, there's no point in using a VPN to game.

I don't see any use for them other than work-related security activity to protect network traffic, or watching TV shows in countries which have imposed unrealistic region blocking

Do I need them to surf the web? no

do I need them to watch TV? Not with the shows i'm watching on Hulu / HBO Max / Prime

Do I need them for gaming? No, and I'll get kicked if I use them in a server

So I don't see the point

Also the VPN costs extra

If a work provides a VPN sure but then I wouldn't be able to watch TV on a work computer...
