is RooR still the standard in water glass?
That my friend…is a tricky one to answer.
German-made Roors, IMO yes. But I’m pretty biased as I only collect custom Roor or other German-blown custom pieces. Mostly their custom bowls. Although I do have an old-school German Roor bubbler as well.
The American-made Roors however (a.k.a. Roor-Tech) are cheaply made, gimmicky shit IMO.
Nowadays with technology a lot of other glassblowers will/can make better “scientific” bongs with (arguably) better perc diffusion than just your standard Roor tube or beaker with a diffused or open-ended downstem…
especially for much cheaper.
But IMO alot of stemless pieces (pieces where you cant remove the perc or downstem as it’s attached to the piece) either have shitty-diffusion, or clog too easily, or…sure they look nice but are a bitch to clean once they get dirty.
