Thinking to myself :

If this game ends at 4:30 and I exercise for 1.5 hours, I can get back for the Canadian game.

You mean one tournament doesn't make or break someone's career? That goes against everything the geniuses on HFB have taught me for years!

Except no one actually thinks that. People are just evaluating the performances of players within the scope of the tournament.

Caufield has been trash all tournament, enough with the excuses. Beniers just banked one off of Brink. Caufield is lucky to still be playing in a top 6 role at this point.

Beniers has been great, he’s really opened my eyes. Absolutely looks like a top 10 pick coming up in this draft.

I’ll be following him closer following this tournament.

As alwasy, I love my Czechs and cheer.. the heart is amazing.. but 3 goals in 8 periods now. I know we're missing, arguably, our 2nd best forward in Pytlik but that isn't exactly going to ignite the scoring as he's more 200 foot player.
Yep.
This worries me a bit in the game against Austria - on paper we're definitely the better team but scoring has been a big problem so far and if their goalie gives another strong performance, that could be an issue.

I 'think' that is the brilliance of it... let our Top 6 eat the big minutes and sneak in the third line. They are most likely to score because of their positining in lineup.

Agreed about Svozil and Jiricek... I do think Kubicek can make a good pass too.
Good point. Would like to see some changes in this 3rd period. This is our last really hard game this group stage until quarterfinal. Gotta figure something out for when you’re down.

US clearly more skilled but the top guys loves the perimeter waaay too much. No coincidence that Brink is the one getting stuff done, he goes straight for the kill area every time.
Can't see them getting much done offensively against Canada or Russia in a playoff game when defense is much tighter.
And I could see them struggle to get clean looks against both Finland and Sweden as well in a do or die game.

The U.S. Sweden game will be very interesting. Can't wait.

He's really good. If you're watching Michigan games, I would watch out for Kent Johnson as well. Both should be top 10 picks. And of course Owen Power plays on that team as well. A good team to watch if you're into the draft.
