Kaliyev is fine for a 2nd round pick.... his skating isn’t great but I imagine the kings will put a heavy emphasis on it and ideally make him a top 6 player. His shot is great and he does have offensive instincts and I think after the last few drafts kings def were in position to take risks on a pure goal scorering winger which is something the system could use.

LA even said as much, that they recognize that Kaliyev is a project with serious deficiencies and took a chance on him because they had just drafted two players in the 1st round and could afford to. They also noted that they don't have a scoring winger in their system, as you just said, which played a factor, too.

I also prefer the TSN crew, but I do feel Starman offers some decent insight/commentary.
NHL Network airs TSN feed for every WJC game except any game involving US.

I'm pretty sure the 14 skater Germany on a back-to-back would beat this Austria team, considering how the two teams played today. Even with how bad those goalies played.

Honestly, this game became way more fun after 4-0. The team really opened up and started using more of their own skill. Because we do have a little bit. Not much. Nothing compared to the USA clearly. But a little bit. Players feel more free to take chances, and some nice looking stuff happened. Even in net, Wraneschitz made some of his best saves after the game started opening up and he was facing some tough positions. Not competitive, but at least more entertaining.
