Would be interesting if they took Brady Tkachuk and Greenway, they played together at BU. Possession beasts.

I think Gaudreau is going to end up playing. Just because Kane is playing now. I'm sure he'd be ecstatic about the chance to play with Kane.

Jeff Blashill was chosen as coach. Seems like a good hire. Trochek and Shattenkirk would have been good adds for Team USA, their absence will be missed.

Between top players declining the invitation and the injuries (and all the weddings) this isn't shaping so well. Again.

Nick Jensen, Danny DeKeyser and Justin Abdelkader time! Oh and we haven't heard about Brock Nelson yet...

Debrincat will never be Panarin lol

You're probably correct, mainly because Panarin is a much better skater than DeBrincat. Panarin might be the best edge skater in the NHL and it's a big part of his elusiveness and effectiveness. But, DeBrincat scoring 28/52 as a 19/20 year old playing with mostly bottom-6 linemates leads me to believe he will score more if he plays exclusively with Kane the way Panarin did. I watched every Hawks game this season and I can't tell you how many times DeBrincat put the puck on a tee for a linemate to get a shot on goal that was botched by the likes of Jurco or some other stiff. Now obviously not all of those chances would result in a goal and an assist for DeBrincat but a bunch of them would have.

Time will tell...one William Karlsson became a 42 goal scorer after scoring 6 goals last season
so anything is possible it seems and lets not forget which of those two is actually the better player.
- nothing away from Karlsson's this season goals and points, i think it was the best thing what happened
to hockey in years.
I was just giving you the business cuz Panarin is an amazing hockey talent, and you used the word much.

I was hoping we’d already see some more positive news regarding participation after Kane agreed to go. Trocheck declining is disappointing. It still feels like expectations for participation should be higher, even if it’s only after the first round of the playoffs.

I’m really of the opinion that all players should want to keep playing competitive hockey into May. Does an extra month off really help when looking forward to next season? Taking more pride in playing for your country in general would be nice as well, though our sports culture doesn’t emphasize that at all.

Can’t blame him after the Olympics snub.

Please no Greenway. He was bad at the Olympics, and this is much stiffer competition.

Sigh, Trocheck. I guess having the prior three summers free wasn’t enough. Shame, but should be held against him.

Trochecks playing time this year might have some to do with it, dude took maintenance days alot at the end of the season.

Player pool is not great this year and there is many NCAA guys who are better options than AHLers who are included.

I made some bets around WJC time and put $30 on what I thought was Team USA to win the WJC, it was paying out at 15-1 and I thought I was making a great bet. Turns out I was betting on the WC and it wasn't a good bet for the WJC. Anyways, I'm rooting for Team USA!

Trocheck is banged up and it goes both ways. If you screw over a guy that should be in the mix multiple times and then return to him when he has pushed through the hurdles to be at the top of the list don't be surprised when he blows you off in return.

I get frustrated with a lot of guys turning them down. Trocheck can do so until he feels like playing after what USA hockey did to him a couple of times.
