Murphy coming too. Fifth time in a row when he is playing for US. Have to say i am suprised if Schamlz is not coming.

Schmaltz came last year, but now with Cat, Murph, and Kaner - I would imagine he will come. frustrating year overall but his buddies are going and he wasn't hurt so I think he comes again which would help us a ton down the middle.

Yay! American Dream can telax for an hour or so. :naughty::D
lol, if I see Keller, Schmaltz and Trocheck accepting, I will be as cool as a cucumber..don't care about the goalies or rest of the defense lol!

and honestly if Johnny Hockey's dad is okay - Kaner coming is a big deal for him to come as well...hell Gaudreau could wait until after the first round eliminations for all I care if he needs more time...to have him and Kane on the same team is something I have wanted to see for years.

I’d be fine if guys like Saad and Galchenyuk never put on a Team USA jersey ever again.

Pumped Kane is going. Having a guy like him is enticing for the bigger fish that haven’t yet declined.

Really hope Keller and Gaudreau join. Johnny’s dad will want him to play. That would give us at least three elite skill guys to build around.

How is it possible, that there is so big diffrent in interest of play for national team, between canadian players and usa players ??

There’s a lot of variables, but a few of the big ones:
  • Canada has a lot more depth than any other national teams, both in top end and overall talent. It gives Hockey Canada a lot of leverage. If an elite Canadian tells Hockey Canada no for this tournament, they do so with the real risk they’ll be left home for best-on-best tournaments in lieu of another elite player. No other country has this luxury. It’s also a necessary chance to separate yourself from the pack if you want to make the future best-on-best tournament teams.
  • Hockey Canada provides much better amenities to their World Championship players and families. A byproduct of their passion for hockey and their public funding. USA Hockey has neither on its side.
  • If USAH were to win this tournament, it would barely even register at home with hockey fans, let alone the general public. It’s national, celebratory news for all other countries.
  • USAH doesn’t have the fortitude to punish players for skipping out or reward guys that show up and perform. I’m not saying we would banish a guy like Kane for sitting out last year, or put Connor Murphy on the next Olympic/World Cup team for always playing, but guys like Pacioretty that never show up shouldn’t get near Team USA again, whereas a guy like Larkin that always shows up and performs should be prioritized for future best-on-best teams.
I have more thoughts, but that’s enough from my phone

or even better, how another team's coach puts a line together that everyone but our own coach has wanted all damn year long!!!

Yep. One of the main reasons that Kane and Panarin played so well together was they both thought and executed the game at an elite level. Kane can make great setup passes all game long but if Kane's team mate can't get into position to receive the pass and get an accurate shot on net - it does little good. DeBrincat is probably the only one on the team who can both think the game well enough AND shoot well enough to be that Panarin-type line mate for Kane. Now - I'm not saying DeBrincat will be as good as Panarin, but I am saying he's the closest guy the Hawks have on the roster. DeBrincat is also the 2nd best passer on the team so back to the Panarin comparison - he can also feed Kane for shooting opportunities.

In my mind Brinksy already is, within next 2 seasons, Alex will be much better than Panarin.

Gotta remember the differences; 1) DeBrincat is 6 years younger 2) DeBrincat didn't
play with Kane, still was able to score team leading 28 goals, second in points with 52
3) Panarin played 6 years in the pro's prior to his rookie season, DeBrincat played his first

Much better than PPG, eh? 110? 120?

Time will tell...one William Karlsson became a 42 goal scorer after scoring 6 goals last season
so anything is possible it seems and lets not forget which of those two is actually the better player.
- nothing away from Karlsson's this season goals and points, i think it was the best thing what happened
to hockey in years.

Any chance we take Tkachuk, Hughes or Wahlstrom?

I'd say Tkachuk is probable if they can't fill the roster with NHL players. I think Adam Fox might be there too. The Red Wings have been linked to Quinn Hughes (as he plays for Michigan) so that'd be an ideal opportunity for Blashill to do some scouting.
