I didn't know Dean Lombardi was like that.
This tournament is going to be rock bottom for American hockey. In the same way 2006 was for the Canadian program. If they have Gaudreau, Eichle, and Matthews in 4 years they'll be in good shape.
Yah and Canada will have McDavid, MacKinnon, Drouin, Ekblad, Parayko etc...good luck to you now and in the future![]()
Lombardi isn't the coach.
and now that this game has gone to OT the USA has to beat Canada
If the US had beaten Europe they would not have laid down for the game against Canada just because it wasn't a must win. The US would still have tried to win tomorrow's game.
not sure why you quoted my post to say this. It doesn't really have anything to do with my post which was that the game has now become a mathematical must win.
Obviously everyone tries in every single game, especially USA against Canada and vice versa because they always love to beat each other.
put a fork in the US, they are done.
they were done the moment they appointed the idiot Tortorelli as the HC....guy don't have a ounce of a clue in him in International style play.
How much will it affect the ratings if USA is out before the semis?
LOL, do you really need to ask? If US is out no one will be watching.

If USA beats both Canada and the Czech Republic in regulation, then they will make it to the semifinals, no matter how the Canada vs. Europe game goes.
It's a tall order but not impossible. USA has already proven they are capable of beating Canada in regulation, at least in one of the exhibition games. And USA should theoretically be capable of beating the Czechs in regulation.
