World Cup: USA is out if they lose to Canada on Tuesday

The U23 team likely needs to beat Sweden to move on. So there's a half-decent shot both the US and U23 teams are out by the semi-finals.

Will the general American audience follow a Canada/Europe/Sweden/Russia semi-final/final?

Does the general American audience follow this anyway? I live here but the only people I hear talking about this are the ones that eat, sleep, and live hockey. The rest is all about football and baseball.

But yes, I will follow it if both teams are out. It's high tempo hockey before the NHL season...what else would there be?

Definitely not. Only saving grace is it's on ESPN, but even still most American sports fans hate ESPN

that isn't just indicative of this tourney. Most people don't follow the NHL either and is all about football and baseball at least until after superbowl. So again, of course only hockey nuts in the states are going to follow, well until the usa is knocked out anyways. But that would be the result for any national team. I don't see to many people caring about the tourney if Canada gets knocked out either

I think the fan watching this tournament is going to watch the rest of the tournament regardless. If you are a hockey fan you are watching, if you are a casual fan you aren't watching. I guesstimate a Canada/Sweden final does similar ratings to game tonight.
