Upgrade on Halak is needed

How do the Rangers fix the backup issue

  • Play Igor every single game, that he is considered both starter and backup

That's pretty cold. This is the guy that always shut us out, correct?
Don't think he is just gonna suck all of a sudden for no reason.
Not like he cannot handle the NY pressure. Yeah, he's been pretty unpredictable/certainly not steady.
Been making some great saves which shows he's capable, but question what's going on in his head.
Gotta believe he will be fine, therefore NO UPGRADE, just for the sake of doing something.
Team needs to be better in front of him (like they have been) and if he could just make the saves he is supposed to make, then we will be fine.

I was as unhappy as anyone, and many times said "noooo, Halak is starting" (to GF) she had same sentiments. Halak was going to play regardless of what anyone thought. It's just the questionable times where GG played him, "unnecessarily".

Also, goalies have to learn their defenseman (in particular) so they can act accordingly. If they don't TRUST they'll do their jobs, then the goalie has to play differently. Just ask Hank. Trust is a must. team loves him, which is helluva lot more than we can say about you know who.

I've always supported Halak starts, they made sense (2nd of back to backs, "weak" opponents"). The fact he couldn't even perform well against the dregs of the league early on was concerning but I put more blame on his lack of run supports and have receipts to prove it.

I agree with everything here, and my main memory of this post is going to be "Trust Is a Must."

Recently, he's about as good a backup as you could ask for.
