Anaheim may be bad but they still have some good players. No team can be taken for granted. Gibson was already playing out of his mind last night and after Halak gave up that Kulikov goal we were chasing the game. The third by Terry was a much better shot but still Halak should have had a better angle on that. A two goal cushion for your opponent leaves you open to more counterattacking if you start pressing the play. It just makes it easier for the other team to make it harder on you in the neutral zone and if Gibson needed a boost to his confidence that the game was there for him to win he had it then. 0-5-1 is a horrendous start. Halak's save % stinks. Another thing to factor is if the team has confidence with Jaroslav in net. I know I'm not feeling it.

Would Domingue do better? It's not like he's tearing up the AHL. Going with something that isn't working clearly isn't good strategy. Do we give Halak another chance or two? I'll say if we do---he's on a countdown and running out of chances. If he doesn't start winning he needs to be dumped no ifs, ands or buts. He clearly is a big reason in last night's loss.

2 goals scored against a lottery team that we gave them their first regulation win and we are worried about a backup that allow 3 goals? Come on

I’m worried about all of it frankly.
This team should be able to beat the ducks with vally in net. I don't think people realize how bad the ducks have been this year.

Kinda agree but...

This is NOT a one off

He's been putrid every time he gets the net
Putrid is a strong word. He has not been good, but putrid would be Guy Hebert in an NYR jersey

Huh? Halak let’s in routine saves multiple times per game. He does not know how to steal a game if his life depended on it. This is not Halak from the Habs, he will be applying for Medicare pretty soon.

Go back and look at the goals he's given up this yr

I stand by "putrid" and usually I'm not a goalie basher

I thought Halak looked really good in his first game with us. Everyone looked really good in those first couple of games though.

He hasn’t been cutting it at all since. This is a significant problem. I guess we can hope the guy retires.

Kulikov goal was abysmal, but we are playing worse in front of him. A couple of his starts he was totally hung out to dry.

I’d go with him, reckon he will turn it around, but it would be useful if he didn’t make any more bad errors

Save percentage stunk
No way you let in 2 of the 3
Igor in they win
Posts were the problem not team effort
That post was not in reference to last night's game. Last night was kinda bad. He needs to at least stop 1 so that it's a 2-2 game.

Only thing Halak has been stealing this year is the Rangers money.I liked the signing, but he has not been good at all.it's gotten to the point if he lets in just 1 softie a game, that's an improvement

Coulda had couple of those, but there is the much bigger problem - this season's NYR make life harder for their own Gs, and easy for opposing G's.
By being reluctant to shoot(even when they had 40 last night. Watch the PP. They dont prioritize making the G work or worry.) The goals Halak shoulda stopped shoulda reminded NYR there are no bad shots.
AND they make life too hard on their own G's. Blind clearing passes. Giving opponent players too muuch time and space in D zone.
Too many games too close, too set up be lost, than there oughta be.
