Yeah I guess, but I thought he would be wearing a number like 40 or something

I think it's just respect for a player will a full NHL season under his belt.

Full season? Pesonen played like five games with us. Matteau actually played far more games with us last year and got a high number instead of 15, which he wore last year for half the season. It raised an eyebrow to me too considering Pesonen should have less than zero chance to make the team.

This got me thinking maybe Larsson will be the only remaining Swede after everything is said and done.

Tallinder- gone
Hedberg- gone

Josefson/Tedenby subject to waivers, trade?

I don't think Josefson will be on the bubble from this. We only need to slash 2 and Josefson has played pretty well in the preseason thus far.

Can you imagine the meltdown if the Pens claimed Teddy and he lit it up. The horror :)

He'd thrive in the offensively-minded system they have, along with all the top end talent he'd wind up benefiting from. He'll never get that in NJ. I'd hate to be 'holding him back', but I wouldn't want him to hurt NJ by helping a division rival.

Trade him to Florida for a pick :sarcasm:

Ya, I agree. I think Josefson has played well enough to stick this year. He might still be stuck in the bottom 6, but he will have a spot on the team.

Some where there is a Tedenby crying.

IMO Tedenby was probably just a backup plan in case we couldn't make a few of these signings. I would bet he got an offer overseas (Just like Lokti) and that's why he was signed so early, just like Lokti.

Perhaps he gets a chance in the case of injury this year. I don't really see him being claimed on waivers, but I could be wrong.

I think Gionta is the one to go because of this.. too many more skilled forwards battling for his spot.

Brunner brings us to 16 forwards so we'll have to cut Barch and Gionta IMO. Keep Teddy and Yayo around at least for the start of the season in case of injury.

I think it's either Barch and Gio, or Gio and Tedenby. It SHOULD be Barch. If we need a fighter then either he or Cam will be just a phone call away in Albany.

Absolutely. I'd be surprised if it ended up any other way.

I feel like they owe it to gionta to trade him somewhere that he can play instead of sending him die in Albany.
