Staios and co are hand-tied with the current reality of injuries. We're all aware/discussed various possibilities and then Norris gets injured which throws the Top 9 into flux. Chabot affects the D varience big time. And then the goalies. Just when you can centre around one scenario, a part gets removed which negates the potential reality.

We know we have 3 good LD plus Brannstrom and Kleven in the wings. We know we need a solid RD and we must draft at least one more. We know we need a better goalie scenario that does not expose Sogard, etc. We know where the strengths are and what we have to do. Staios needs time to do it and I believe he will - on his time-line. Its a slow process.

Getting the best coach is also a hugh part of the scario.

I always read your name as Howell. Like Thurston Howell the Third. Nobody will be able to unsee it now.
To hang with Ginger would have been a good gig.

I was actually at the location where they filmed Gilligan's Island. It's a small island a very short distance from a location on the northern shore of Puerto Rico. This fits in the "who cares" category. LOL.

This board is hilarious. The asset managers complained about how Dorion wasted assets. Now with Staios they are saying we should have kept him rather than take the assets that were available.
BUT MUH ASSET MANAGEMENT!

Ginger or Mary Ann might have been one of the biggest questions of the 70s.

Getting the best GM was also a major requirement to develop the future roster.

There was nothing to do. The team had nothing to sell other than Tarasenko as a rental.
That is inaccurate. There is plenty to sell: Chychrun, Chabot, etc. I agree that the playoff bound teams might be cap-strapped. Getting valuable assets back is the key to making such trades and that may be a limiter at this time.

ol yeah its early but I am starting to believe that this new management ain`t it. The inexperience is starting to show.

There were really no pressing deals to make this deadline other than Tarasenko. Glad they didn’t do anything. Anything they would’ve done today they can very well do in the offseason and most likely get more considering this was the biggest buyers market we’ve seen in a while. Guys were going for cheap across the board

Those are summer trades , when more teams can be involved.
Bolded is your answer.

Weren't you saying they should move Chychrun now because they'd likely get less at the draft? I mean, I'm of the opinion that the time to move Chych is at the draft, but if I'm not mistaken, you were pushing for it to happen now.

If they trade Chychrun now that should come with some extra scrutiny.

Really hard to argue you are going to get more for him when teams are only getting one run with the guy vs 2.

Sounds like he may have laid some ground work for moves during the off season.

I really hope he’s able to solve the goaltending issues somehow

Like AJ Jakubec said, Dorion left Staios with a crap sandwich on his way out and that’s accurate such a big mess to clean up and I have no idea how he’s going to fix all the holes on this roster - challenging times ahead!
