He had the NMC, so if he only wanted to go to Florida what else could be done?
Hang on to him I guess but that’s worse than getting nothing since without him it adds to the tank.
I don’t believe Florida has any 1st or 2nds the next couple years.

Still seems a little weird than there is a condition on getting the other 3rd this year.

Florida board saying that was the only place he wanted to go. One poster even said that part of Tank signing here in the first place was that if we weren't making the playoffs he was to be traded to his desired spot. Not pick 1 of 3 teams...his choice of team.

1st trade. Boo. Unless Cap Space becomes a tool .. I would just keep him.

NJD got a 4th round pick for retaining 1.125m in the Tanev deal.

Sens retain 2.5 and give FLA Tarasenko for a 4th and a 3rd.

Trash return, just keep him at this point.

Habs got a first for Ben Chiarot I don’t really care how you try to compare the contracts and stuff this return is just simply bad.

Too many people fine with mediocrity around this org

I’ve been low on staois. He has no experience being a GM let alone a president. Somehow he’s manipulated to be both. What a horrendous trade. Just keep him. He could teach the young guys a few things or let alone keep Brady’s spirits up.

Instead we trade him for basically nothing and to a team that has a great tax bracket, contender, lots of cap space coming up, oh yeah and is an amazing place to live.

Such a f***ing moron. Staois.

If the team promised Tarasenko they'd move him at the trade deadline to the team of his choice when he signed, then keeping him would be the moronic thing to do.

Can't judge someone on a trade when they have ZERO leverage.

He made no promises.

lol, I can't...

We would like you to retain 50% on Tarasenko.

Ok, I can do that.

We're gonna go ahead and offer a 3rd and a 4th.

And?

That's it!

lol. Click

Some of you guys are reacting like Staois signed Tank to a contract with a NTC, we're still paying for Dorion's mistakes.

If Tank signs here in the summer though, this doesn't look as bad.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss
It’s one trade lol. Dorion’s issue (or one of many I suppose) was he often put himself in positions where he had no leverage, and ownership added to that. Staios has nothing to do with the lack of leverage on this trade, his real evaluation begins this summer.

Around the bend
Hf Sens in shambles over a 2nd vs a 3rd. Not a good return, but the market dictates what you are offered. Move the UFA for what you can get under the circumstances.

Interested to see what else transpires this deadline now that the most obvious piece of business is done.

Not happy. Would have kept Tarasenko to continue his work with Pinto if a 3rd and 4th is all I could get.

Think HF Sens is more in shambles with the accumulation of garbage we have seen for the past 7 years

I don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel

But the organization (likely) did. And if you don't follow through on those commitments, you look like an asshole when you pass the blame on to the previous guy. That's something Dorion might have done. But class individuals don't.
Let’s play this out.

Tank sign here and if we suck we will trade you to wherever you wanna go.

Tank: sounds good.

Tank we suck. We have four offers for you.

Tank: I only choose florida

Tank we have four offers. I know you want florida but they want you? They’re offering almost nothing. Look at all these teams that want you more.

*in the minds of sens fans advocating for staois*

Tank: f*** that. I only want Florida. Not the teams I almost signed for in the off-season or deeper contenders. Just Florida.

Staois: well from my extensive experience being a nobody this is the best.

Cmon man.

His job involves convincing him. Tank has been a good dude. Don’t pretend he’s all of a sudden a strict ass.
