Came across this fact earlier................the Intercontinental Championship hasn't been defended on a PPV in 2022 and was only defended twice on PPV in 2021 (Fastlane and WM 37). Crazy to think that once upon a time the IC title would be the focal point of the 2nd biggest feud or at the very least the 3rd biggest at any given time.

Beonica Belaire does nothing for me because she reminds me of John Cena whenever he lost the title he would run down to the ring and act like it didn't even matter to him.

and Belair will do the same thing except instead of running down to the ring she will dance down to the ring swining her hair and act like losing the title means nothing to her

I know Eddie died in November so they wouldn't have been able to pay off the story properly but he should have won the ladder match at summerslam 2005.

Rey never had to overcome anything because he always beat Eddie. Rey should have lost at summerslam 2005 and had to fight to get his son back.

Belair is a excellent talent in many respects, but her character has not developed one iota since she joined the main roster. It's literally the exact same every single week, every single promo, etc.

That being said, I think its a lot harder for performers who debut as babyfaces to develop their character in the early going when compared to those who come in as heels.

I'm not a fan of those chop/slap fests like Samoa Joe vs Suzuki last night. It's silly that you'd just let the guy chop you and not defend it.

I very much agree. People crap on rest spots for being boring or slowing down a match, but I don't see that much difference between a long rest spot or trading chest slaps or forearms to the neck. Rest spots also don't fly in the face of logic either.

I completely agree. I've also always thought it's silly how some fans/writers give so much credit to certain wrestlers for working so stiff. For one, shouldn't the guy taking the stiff shots get more credit than the guy giving them and two, professional wrestling isn't supposed to about hurting a guy for real. Now, I'm not saying I don't enjoy seeing some stiff shots being given out and most who give them out take them back in return but I don't see it as something that makes a wrestler great.

There's this idea that a stiff worker is a legit tough guy, which is bad logic.

Is this unpopular? Chad Gable is absolutely cringeworthy.
I guess that depends on whether or not you think he is a great wrestler, which he is, he’s just been given really shitty gimmicks and never seemed to aspire for better.

I’ve got an unpopular wrestling opinion. The original ECW wasn’t good, it just had a few legendary moments that made it look like it was.

It was what laid the blueprint of the attitude era but did an even better job of it considering it didn't have access to any talent they wanted like the WWE did.

Talent was utilized to its absolute maximum ability. It made stars of guys like Benoit, Eddie, Malenko, Mysterio, Jericho, etc. at a time when they'd have been considered too small for the WWE.

There was a lot more than just a few legendary moments. Every show at the ECW Arena seemed to have one.

Or maybe you only watched the watered down version of it from around the time they got a timeslot on TNN?

Assen na yo!

I don't think we got ECW in Ontario until 1999. So I saw some 1999-2001 ECW and always thought it was trashy. Not something I'd admit to watching. But I do understand the appeal of their entire run.

I watched it when it was happening and didn’t like it. I was there before Douglas trashed the NWA title. I liked that. I liked Raven vs. Dreamer. I could go on and on, but so little of it was good, so much of it was garbage.

People that brings signs to wrestling events (or sports events in general) are the worst type of people.

Jonathan Coachman was a good commentator.

Not only is CM Punk a whiny little bitch, but he perfectly encapsulates everything currently wrong with wrestling.

Hogan's the GOAT (used to be a very popular take, now is a decidedly very unpopular one).

Here's an unpopular opinion. I can't stand listening to Paul Heyman. He's a good booker and great at hyping up a match but his voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I used to change the channel when he came out to hype Lesner up.

Honestly when I hear him speak it reminds me of Bettmans voice.

What's the point? All you're doing is blocking the view of the person behind you.
I tried that a few times, once at a flyers game, and that’s the only thing I could think about. At least at the wwe show it was fine since everyone else did it. But unless you’re front row, it’s not worth the hassle
